Remedial Massage addresses specific musculo-skeletal problems and accelerates recovery from injury. Kathryn employs a wide variety of diagnostic techniques to identify the cause of your symptoms, then tailors a treatment aimed at promoting healing of the soft tissues, improving movement in your body and restoring optimum function. A firmer pressure is generally used, but only within your comfort level. The massage may incorporate techniques such as trigger point therapy, deep transverse friction and PNF stretching. A carefully designed home exercise and stretching program may also be given to help you maintain the effects of the massage and prevent reoccurrence of the complaint.
Massage is a preventative and restorative treatment essential for your well-being.

myofascial release
Fascia is specialized connective tissue. It is sometimes referred to as the body’s internal wrapping system, as it surrounds every structure within the body and is continuos from head to toe. Because of its’ interconnectedness, restriction in the fascia can affect posture, pain, and mobility of the entire body. Myofascial Release utilises gentle traction that stretches, softens, lengthens and realigns fascia. Releasing these restrictions often significantly reduces pain levels and allows more functional flexibility and mobility of the muscles, fascia and associated structures.

cranio sacral therapy
The craniocsacral system comprises the membranes and fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord, as well as the attached membranes and bones, including the skull, and face, which make up the cranium, and the spine and tailbone (sacrum). Since the brain and spinal cord are part of the central nervous system, it is easy to see that the Cranio Sacral system has a powerful influence over a wide variety of bodily functions. Kathryn gently contacts your body and checks for tension and strain patterns in the tissues. She then uses delicate manual techniques to release the affected tissue and restore it to its normal function.

Polarity Therapy is a holistic healthcare approach which is based on the ancient Chinese and Ayurvedic systems. It works with the human energy field in a similar way to acupuncture. Bookings are essential for all treatments. Remember to book your next appointment before you leave to ensure availability and avoid disappointment.
All treatments are inclusive of a consultation and debrief.
cancellations
Please allow at least 24hrs notice of cancellations &/or rescheduling to avoid a cancellation fee.
arrival
Arriving 10-15 minutes prior to your appointment will ensure that you have time to unwind before to your treatment. The more relaxed you are at the start of your service, the more rejuvenated you will feel afterwards. If it is your first appointment, you will have some forms to fill in detailing the reasons for your visit and what you hope to get out of it.
Please understand that if you arrive late, your treatment time may be reduced accordingly to avoid inconveniencing following clients. We will, however, require that you pay in full.
