Footpoint Sports Clinic
Over 63% of Australian’s have suffered foot pain – have you? This is not such a surprising
statistic when you take into account that the average person walks 128,000 km in a lifetime,
or three times around the world. But, have you ever stopped and really looked at how it is
that you walk, and what it is that causes you pain?
By looking at your stride, how your feet strike the ground, the positioning of your limbs and
joints, podiatrists can gain a great deal of insight into what may be causing pain, and what
you can do about it.
Conditions treated:

Traditionally, problems with your knees, ankles and feet have been assessed visually, however new technology is now available that helps to make diagnosis more accurate.
The Gait Scan is a pressure plate which is a state of the art diagnostic tool engineered to help recognise faulty foot and limb function during gait. Because no two feet are the same, the specialized pressure plate which incorporates the most advanced computer technology, shows your individual pressure points.
When you stand on the pressure plate, an image is produced of your foot, with different levels of pressure displaying as different colours in the computer generated image. This enables a podiatrist to determine if your weight is balanced evenly between the right and left side of the body, if you have a flat foot or a highly arched foot and if you pronate(roll in) or supinate.
At Footpoint sports Clinic a detailed biomechanical assessment is undertaken to evaluate the effect that foot function may have on your problem
Dartfish software is the latest technology which enables us to analise gait thus aiding in the prescription of orthoses
