What is Myotherapy?
Myotherapy is the systematic manipulation of the body's soft tissue, which uses’ a combination of massage and acupressure techniques to bring the body into a totally unrestricted and balanced state.
Myotherapy treats the body as a whole removing blockages and balancing the muscle groups so that all movements are unrestricted and harmonious with the rest of the body.
Why do I have pain?
Pain is the result of tension building up to the point where certain movements or a relaxed state cannot be achieved. As we move about during the day tension is generated by a restriction in circulation or imbalance in the mechanics of the body. This affects our movement, posture and every day life. As this tension heightens, pain and sometimes inflammation will result. The tension may happen quickly with a sudden movement in the form of a muscle spasm or it can develop slowly over a long period of time.
As the tension and or inflammation increases a person will experience chronic pain and eventually injury. To heal the body and relieve the pain permanently, the cause of the mechanical problems with the muscles must be diagnosed and corrected. Most pain in the body is referred from another area, so your not always treating the symptom area, it's more to do with correcting the problem or imbalance elsewhere in the body, to take away the pain and fix the problem permanently.
Is Myotherapy for me?
