Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a technique conducted with the use of fine non painful needles to bring about positive change to imbalances in 12 channels of energy that run alongside the pathways of the nervous system. Imbalances are shown by negative signs and symptoms of any condition. The dominant energies to balance are yin and yang e.g. heat and cold, and creating harmony between the five elements – Metal, Earth, Fire, Water, Wood that govern all states of health.

Consultation Process

In an acupuncture consultation, your full history is discussed; your tongue and pulse are examined to assist the practitioner in diagnosing what channels and organs are out of balance.

A dietary analysis is also conducted to allow a broader view of contributions to the imbalances.

A treatment protocol is discussed and carried out and will include pain free needling with the addition of, depending on the condition, cupping, moxabustion (a Chinese herb is burnt to warm the needles, especially used in cold conditions), TENS Machine (gentle electronic impulses through the needles to stimulate chronic deficiencies), dermal hammering (move blood stagnation), scraping (ceramic soup like spoon to move blood stagnation gently) and massage therapy (especially in stress management or musculoskeletal problems).

Chinese herbal medicine supplements and dietary changes may also be recommended to help the healing process.

Recommendations

The practitioner will then discuss what to expect post treatment and recommendations regarding treatment frequency and healing time frames.

Ailments Treated

Acupuncture is used to treat all conditions including back pain, sinus, headaches/migraines, infertility (menstrual problems, labor pain), stress, sciatica and heel spurs naming a few.

Cost

Initial consultation - 1 hour - $100

Follow up consultation - 1/2 hour - 45 minutes - $75

Extended follow-up consultation - 1 hour - $90

Naturopathy

Naturopathy is the treatment carried out to target specific under functioning organs and systems within the body using iridology, nutritional medicine, herbal medicine, flower essences, dietary analysis, hair /skin /nail and tongue analysis.

Iridology is conducted using a specialized iris torch that exposes the different colours and markings within its structure. This exposes your base constitutional and functional weaknesses and allows the practitioner to then connect and treat the core of the evident negative symptoms being experienced. This saves time treating the incorrect cause and allows for quick turnaround sin your health status.

Nutritional and Herbal medicineare condensed therapeutic amounts of nutrients in tablet, powder or liquid form i.e. Vitamin E, D, C etc. and medicinal herbs ie St Mary’s Thistle, Licorice, Oats to assist and accelerate the body’s natural healing abilities. These are not relied on permanently as they “retrain” the body to function as they are meant to.

Flower essences are energetic imprints of the characteristics of a flower’s energy on water molecules that specifically treat emotional imbalances. E.g. trauma memories, inability to change, difficulties learning etc.

Ailments Treated

Naturopathy is greatly beneficial for all conditions including: infertility, menstrual problems, weight loss, allergies, digestive disturbances, menopause, rheumatoid arthritis, SLE (systemic lupus erythematosis), Osteoarthritis, Celiac disease, pregnancy, pediatrics conditions, also included – immunity concerns, bowel disturbances and learning disorders.

    Cellulite Therapy with Cupping

    Cupping works to break surface and deep cellulite levels by drawing through gentle suction and stimulation of the circulation with a sliding action along the different acupuncture channels in problematic areas.

    Cellulite develops when stagnation of blood flow occurs in an area with a combination of poor fat metabolism.

    Not only will you be satisfied with how you look whether it be legs, abdomen, arms etc, the health benefits are tremendous.

    Increased circulation in these problem areas increases the nourishment of the particular organs and systems connected. Increases of energy, improved digestion, reduced stress, reduced fluid retention are naming a few of the benefits that accompany this therapy.

    Aromatherapy oils are combined with the cupping to further help the movement of the cellulite from the associated area. The oils used are chosen to suit the specific needs of the individual. Allergies to these oils are notified and not used in the treatment.

    All problem areas are treated.

    Cost

    Cellulite therapy session is for 1 hour at a cost of $95 per session.

    Pay for 7 sessions, get the 8th free! That’s a saving of $95.

    Cosmetic Acupuncture

    Cosmetic acupuncture involves treating organ weaknesses / imbalances related to areas of skin pigmentation, scarring- acne, fine lines, deep lines and wrinkles, sun damaged areas and broken capillaries. These reflect a decreased repair and maintenance ability of the skin through poor collagen production and oxygenation.

    Consultation Process

    Your initial consultation covers:

  • Full medical history analysis;
  • Dietary assessment;
  • Acupuncture treatment for the systemic weaknesses;
  • Local painless needling of the problem area;
  • Dermal hammering (to further increase blood flow to the area,
  • another gentle technique); and
  • Facial massage.

    Cost

    The initial consultation is a one hour session and costs $195.

    Subsequent visits are 45 minutes and costs $160.

    Pre purchase 14 treatments and the 15th treatment is FREE!That’s a saving of $160.

    Remedial Massage Therapy

    Remedial massage therapy is a more therapeutic extension of traditional Swedish relaxation massage. A combination of firm and lighter techniques are used to release muscular tension and disorders as well as postural imbalances.

    Consultation Process

    The treatment will usually begin with a consultation to determine your main problem areas, and the likely causes. Postural analysis and muscle testing can also be used to identify dysfunction. The massage treatment will then consist of a combination of stretching, Myofascial and trigger point releasing, deep tissue and relaxation techniques.

    The benefits include relief of muscular pain and discomfort, and the side affects of postural imbalances such as joint pain. However some of the lesser know benefits include; declines in stress levels, and by extension conditions exacerbated by stress, decreases in headaches and the need for pain medications, boosting circulation and promoting detoxification of the body.

    AILMENTS TREATED

    Many conditions can be treated with, or achieve relief from symptoms with remedial massage including tension headaches, scoliosis, asthma, carpal tunnel syndrome, disc problems, chronic muscular pain, pain following exercise, muscular spasm, stress, repetitive strain injuries and many associated conditions.

    COST

    A one hour treatment is priced at $90, but can also include cupping at no extra charge. A ½ hour treatment is priced at $60.

    RECOMMENDATIONS

    Initially, depending on the severity of symptoms, treatments may be needed once a fortnight or even once a week for several weeks. However, as the condition improves the gap between treatments can be extended to monthly or 6 weekly maintenance visits to prevent recurrence. Your practitioner will discuss this with you and will vary according to your condition.

    Massage is also a fantastic preventative tool and an inexpensive way to boost your general health and wellbeing.

    Myofascial Release Therapy

    Myofascial release is a gentle hand on technique that works to release fascia that surrounds all muscles and organs, through to the cellular level.
    Fascia is a connective tissue that acts as a shock absorber and holds all emotional and physical traumas.

    The benefits of such a therapy is that it works to a deeper level than a deep tissue massage, without the pain, and removes old injuries that have been stored in your body for a long period of time.

    An example would be past motor vehicle accidents, a death in the family that has left emotional scarring, broken bones, recurrent sprains and strains, surgery and so on.

    CONSULTATION PROCESS

    The initial consultation includes full history, assessment and treatment carried out over a period of one hour.

    COST

    Initial Consultation - $90 Allow 1 hour
    Follow up Consult - $90 Allow 1 hour

    RECOMMENDATIONS

    At least 2 treatments are recommended as a good indication as to whether this therapy is for you. It is then decided there after as to what future treatments are necessary.

    Craniosacral Therapy

    Cranio Sacral Therapy involves the “unwinding” of the housing of the spinal cord allowing the cerebrospinal fluid to flow without obstruction. This housing is called the dural tube. Cerebrospinal fluid flows in this dural tube and has the important role of nourishing and protecting the spinal cord and brain. Hence, it is important for the dural tube to be in optimal positioning around the spinal cord and not twisted, as it becomes in cases of poor structural positioning and trauma.

    A blockage in this flow of cerebrospinal fluid causes lack of nourishment to the spinal cord and hence improper relaying of messages from the brain to the spinal cord and ultimately to the multiple systems within the body. Physical trauma and imbalance ultimately affect your body’s entire functioning.

    This therapy works by manipulating the flow of the cerebrospinal fluid via focusing on the positioning of the cranial bones (the bones housing the brain namely frontal, parietal, occipital, temporal, mandible, cheek bones, sphenoid bone [the bone that houses the sinus cavity and attaches to the back of the eyes]) and the sacrum (the triangular bone that each hip attaches to).

    Myofascial Release Therapy and Craniosacral Therapy are complimentary. When the fascia is released, the body’s structure is improved, allowing for the appropriate positioning of the cranial and sacral bones and hence optimal manipulation of the flow of cerebrospinal fluid.

    CONSULTATION PROCESS

    The consultation process consists of full medical history assessment, and treatment. The 1 ½ hour initial consult is hands on the entire time.

    The cost is $130. Follow-up visits/subsequent visits are one hour sessions and cost $100.
