Naturopathy
In Naturopathy the aim is to help you to understand your own unique body/mind, and to adopt lifestyle practices that are right for you, and that will help you to enjoy good health and longevity.
Naturopathy focuses on the whole of you, not just the parts that are causing trouble. When ill health happens, there is often something that needs to be understood, or something about your life that you may be overlooking. The symptom is an invitation from your body to look a little deeper, and bring yourself to a greater sense of wholeness.
Naturopathy is not about the practitioner “curing” you. It is about offering you advice, guidance and support while you heal yourself. We may use cleansing and regeneration programs, herbs, homeopathy, flower essences, dietary adjustments, essential oils and quality nutrients where appropriate to help you along the way.
What happens at your first Naturopathy consultation?
Most importantly, you will be listened to! I want to know what your health concerns are, what other challenges you are facing, and what you most want to achieve from your treatment.
Your full health history, and details regarding your current diet and lifestyle, exercise habits, work and leisure routines, past shocks and traumas, and your present symptoms will all be noted.
You will have your irises and sclera photographed, and the main points relating to your health will be described to you. Through this, you will learn what are your genetic strengths and weaknesses, which organs and systems are malfunctioning, and how these have contributed to your current health challenges.
A small sample of your blood will be observed with a darkfield microscope, and you will see your blood live using computer/video technology. We will look at the appearance of your red blood cells and other important blood markers, to gain further insights into what is out of balance in your body.
You will receive recommendations for dietary and lifestyle changes, along with practical advice as to how to integrate the changes into your life.
You may be advised to follow a cleansing program, and take herbal and/or nutritional treatment where appropriate for your condition.
Your first Naturopathy consultation will take approximately one hour.
When you know what you need to do to take care of yourself and why, the commitment to change comes naturally.
Detailed Eye Analysis reports – an optional extra
Detailed Eye Analysis reports are available on request. This involves a full and detailed analysis of your eye images after your consultation, using the images taken.
This takes some time, involving detailed use of charts and maps of the iris and sclera, and will give you much more detail than is possible within the consultation time.
Your report will describe your constitutional tendencies (your inherited predispositions) and tell you which parts of your body require support and healing right now. You will also be alerted to any areas that may cause problems in the future.
Your report will describe recommendations for diet, supplements and other practices that will help you achieve your personal health goals and help to prevent illness in the future.
Eye analysis reports are designed to help you to take responsibility for your
own health, for the rest of your life.
While supplements, herbs and homeopathic medicine are wonderful aids in the healing process, it is what you do every day and over time that makes the biggest difference.
Follow up consultations
These are scheduled at 2, 3, or 6 week intervals, depending on your program and symptoms. Your progress is reviewed and the program altered as necessary. Your follow up consultation takes half an hour.
My role is to be a friend, mentor and guide, rather than a figure of authority.

Iridology, Sclerology and Rayid – Comprehensive Eye Analysis
Iridology is the study of the coloured part of your eye – your iris. It can reveal genetic predispositions, your inherent robustness (or “abuse capacity”) and other aspects of your health.
Rayid (or Personality Iridology) is different to Iridology in that it reveals your patterns of relationship to the world, people, situations and how you tend to respond to these. This awareness opens the doorway to relaxation and change.
Sclerology involves analysis of the whites of your eyes – the sclera. The information found in your sclera can compliment Iridology analysis and provide more detail about current imbalances.

By observing a drop of your blood under a darkfield microscope, much can be learnt about your body and how it is functioning right now. Every cell in your body relies on the competency of your blood stream to deliver life-giving nutrients, and the effectiveness of this process can be seen under the microscope.
Essential Reflexology
Reflexology is a science that is based on the principle that there are reflexes in your feet, hands, ears, and other body surface areas that correspond to organs, glands and other body parts. The practice of reflexology involves the use of the fingers and thumb to exert pressure on these reflexes, as a form of acupressure. Reflexology treatments have been shown to:
Relieve stress and tension
Improve blood supply and assist the unblocking of nerve impulses
Support homeostasis (the natural efforts of the body to rebalance body function)
Essential Reflexology involves the application of essential oils to specific points on your feet and body before, during or after Reflexology treatment, and can be helpful when seeking to release emotional disturbances.
What happens in a reflexology session?
First you will receive a warm foot bath fragrant with therapeutic grade essential oils.
After the footbath you will lie on a padded massage table, or sit in a reclining chair suited for the purpose. Specific acupressure techniques are applied to complete a full treatment of both right and left feet. Extra time may be spent working on sensitive areas, once the treatment of both feet has been completed.
I practise the original Ingham Method of Reflexology. This means that you will receive a deep and thorough acupressure treatment on all points in your feet.
Application of high quality therapeutic grade essential oils to specific points on the feet or body may in some cases follow the reflexology treatment.
Most people find Reflexology to be a pleasant and relaxing therapy to receive, and a valuable aid to self-healing programs. By improving blood circulation and nerve supply to all the organs of your body, a thorough reflexology treatment can help speed up your body’s rate of healing.

Urine Indican test
This test is an indicator of the level of dysbiosis (toxicity) of your large bowel.
A certain amount of the toxic load in our bodies comes from exogenous sources (from outside the body – such as from industrial chemicals, pollutants, pesticides, food chemicals, smoking and cleaning agents. However, the colon or bowel is often the largest contributor to the toxic load in a person’s body. Research over the last 100 years has proven the existence of bowel toxins, and shown that it is just as important to keep the colon healthy as it is to minimise exposure to exogenous toxins.
Indican is found in the urine when there has been putrefaction of protein in the colon following a high protein meal. Indican is a by-product of the metabolism of putrefactive bacteria, and in high enough amounts will fail to be detoxified by the liver, saturate the bloodstream and then be excreted by the kidneys.
Your indican test result is a measure of the extent of toxaemia in your colon.

Heavy Metal Testing
This test can be performed on any liquid sample (urine, water, blood, sweat, juices) to show the presence of heavy metals such as lead, mercury, zinc, copper, cadmium, cobalt.
You may already have heard about the dangers of mercury, lead, pesticides and other toxic substances, but you may not be aware of the toll that heavy metals, chemicals and other toxins are taking on your body.
While you may be making efforts to eat healthy foods, it’s quite difficult to avoid exposure to many of these health-robbing toxins. They’re in the air you breathe, the food you eat, the water you drink. Even some of the products you use every day, like lotions, sunscreens, shampoos, and cosmetics.
Excess of any of the heavy metals can trigger troublesome symptoms and more serious health problems. They can be a cause of joint stiffness, occasional memory loss and brain fog.
