Acupuncture Benefits
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is an integrated system of primary health care where treatments are tailored to your individual health needs. This practice developed from the philosophy that restoring balance and normal function treats aliments and prevents further illness from developing.
TCM is recognized by the World Health Organization as a form of treatment for various aliments including menstrual problems, insomnia, headaches, sinusitis, asthma, high and low blood pressure, digestive disorders, skin disorders, musculoskeletal problems and addictions. In addition to providing effective treatment for a wide range of chronic and acute health disorders, the following benefits are included;
Drug free pain relief
Very few side-effects
Assists in disease prevention
Treats underlying cause as well as the symptoms
Holistic approach to illness, linking mind, body, spirit and emotions
Assists in prevention against disease and illness as well as maintenance of general well-being, strengthens immune function
Can be used on its own or in combination with Western Medicine
What to Expect During an Appointment
Before an effective treatment protocol can be determined it is necessary to formulate a detailed diagnosis. This is achieved through a thorough consultation. A detailed diagnosis includes undertaking a full medical/family/surgical history where your digestive function, eating habits, sleep patterns, energy levels etc are discussed as are living and work environments. Information concerning your main ‘complaint’ is thoroughly discussed. A physical examination including palpation of the pulse and inspection of the tongue is undertaken. Once the above information is collected the disease pattern affecting you is determined and an individual treatment plan is undertaken.
What to Expect During Treatment
During an Acupuncture treatment insertion of fine, sterile needles which are then disposed of are placed into specific sites along the body’s meridians. Stimulation of these points clears energy blockages and encourages the flow of Qi through the body, bringing restored balance.
Stimulation of the acupuncture points using moxa, cupping, guasha and massage may also be undertaken.
Typically only a slight sensation is experienced, often likened to a heavy, numb feeling. The needles remain inserted for 10-20 minutes depending on your condition. Most generally experience a relaxing feeling during and following the treatment.
How Many Treatment do You Need
Treatment aim is to restore balance. Depending on the seriousness of the aliment, treatments can vary from 3-10 sessions. In the case of chronic and serious conditions ongoing treatment may be required.
The number and frequency of treatments depends on several factors. These include the duration and intensity of the disorder, age and constitution. As your condition changes and improves, treatments are adjusted and modified until the desired outcome is reached.
Response to Treatment
Often the first noted response is a change in general health. Sleep patterns, digestion and energy levels often improve. Variation occurs depending on the seriousness of the aliment.
What You Can Do to Assist Your Therapy
Keep a positive attitude, set personal health goals, eat nutritious food, exercise regularly and obtain adequate rest and relaxation.
Other Forms of Treatment
Traditional Chinese Massage(Tui NA)
Tui Na releases blockages and regulates the flow of Qi and blood circulation via the use of finger pressure instead of needles.
Moxibustion
Moxibustion is a form of treatment often used in conjunction with acupuncture. It involves the use of a dried herb (Mugwort). The purpose of moxibustion is to stimulate the flow of Qi and blood and remove blockages.
Cupping
The use of glass suction cups in combination with acupuncture treatment or massage stimulates Qi and blood flow causing musculoskeletal problems for example and removes cold wind invasions in the case of cold and flu.
Reflexology
By stimulating reflex areas which correspond to all the glands, organs and parts of the body on the feet, hands and ears balance is achieved. Reflexology encourages a healthy body by facilitating the proper functioning of the circulatory system, enabling nutrients and oxygen supply to reach all cells of the body.

The skin is the largest organ of the body and a manifestation of the inner health of an individual. As today’s consumers are becoming increasingly aware of this fact there has been a massive swing away from chemical based products to pure, organics.
Unfortunately no regulation controls the labeling of the term “NATURAL” as yet. As an example Propylene Glycol a petrochemical widely utilized in skin care is also used in the car industry as an anti-freeze and hydraulic brake fluid. Products with these ingredient lists are often sadly labeled as “NATURAL”.
The topical application of chemical ingredients may cause toxins to build up in the body, having a negative effect on cellular regeneration. Yet to the majority of unaware consumers, chemical filled products are part of daily life.
THIS IS WHERE PHYT’S DIFEFRS
35 Years of History
PHYT’S Certified Organic Skin Care was developed 35 years ago by Jean-Paul Llopard a botanist whom later studied aromatherapy and also graduated in biology. Last year he retired at the age of 86. Jean-Paul’s passion for organics developed from an early age. From early on he was conscious of the potentially harmful effects that chemicals have on the human body. He dreamt of creating skin care products made totally from a high concentration of natural, active elements free of Petro-Chemicals and colourants utilizing only natural preservatives.
Working from his father’s farm, he began manufacturing a few lotions and creams selling them to local therapists, becoming an instant success.
Due to his products containing no preservatives and therefore not having a long shelf life Jean-Paul came up with the idea of using a medical packing machine, which allowed the creams and serums to be sealed in single doses phials (glass ampoules). A process that is still current and unique today for PHYT’S. Years later he developed a method to package retail products in ‘metalo-plastic’ tubes a plastic tube with a metallic lining which allows for synergy with essential oils and allows the products to be preserved for three years un-opened. This form of packaging is at the fore-front of skin care as the majority of skin care companies use plastic packaging which is a porous chemical element which contaminates the contents in the tube.
For Jean-Paul Lleopard the search for natural beauty never stops, PHYT’S laboratories in the south of France have progressively learnt to develop new textures in the form of creams, gels, balms, serums and oils which are all 100% natural and adapted to each person’s specific problem caring for the whole body.
In Jean-Paul’s quest to establish his integrity he applied to have his entire range tested for “Organic Certification” and was rewarded with PHYT’S being one of the first skin care companies in the world to receive the stringent label BIO. The "BIO" label is the highest level of ECOCERT certification given to organic cosmetic companies. PHYT’S WENT FROM BEING 100% NATURAL TO 100% CERTIFIED ORGANIC. PHYT’S is also the only French skin care company endorsed by the French ministry of health.
Today all of the products in the PHYT’S range nearly 100 to date, are produced in 20kg batches, to preserve their integrity and quality according to certification requirements.
PHYT’S is totally in sync with Mother Nature, to protect your inner balance, your natural beauty without the aid of chemicals.
