David Pelusey - Clinical Nutritionist.
BHSc (NutMed)

David has spent most his working life in social services prior to returning to study to complete the BHSc Nutritional Medicine in 2001. Whilst specialising in digestive and mental health, David consults with a variety of people accross the community with a variety of health complaints. Mt Lawley Nutrition and Family Health works hard on community education, and as such David is very involved in free community seminars on subjects such as digestive health, childhood nutrition, mental health and ageing.

David also lectures in nutrition at university level.

To explain the role of a clinical Nutritionist the following definition is provided -

Clinical Nutrition is an area of medicine that seeks to identify and treat health disorders that result from improper or inadequate diet, or from diseases that make the body unable to utilize the nutrients delivered to it in the normal diet. Clinical nutrition therapy includes the use of food as medicine, as well as prescription only nutritional medicines.

Bronwyn Spencer – Naturopath / Clinical Nutritionist

Bronwyn has worked in the health industry for over 30 years, firstly in retail pharmacy, then gaining qualifications in a Diploma of Health Science (Massage) and successfully running her own business before continuing studies to become a Naturopath.

Naturopathy is the science, art and philosophy of adjusting the overall framework of an individual, correcting the mental, emotional and environmental influences, and supplying the body with its needed elements. It incorporates Herbal Medicine, vitamins and minerals, homeopathics, body work ie - massage therapy and a range of other treatment options.

Bronwyn is dedicated to offering education and advice in all areas of natural healing and has a passion for children’s health and sensible food education, so as to prevent many disease states that can be set in place from an early age and continue to manifest in adulthood.

Bronwyn also lectures at university level.

Kirsten Bouse – Psychologist.
BSc,PostGradDip,MPsych,MAPS

Kirstin Bouse has been working with individuals and couples since 1995. She helps people address a wide range of issues including self-esteem, depression and anxiety. Kirstin is a registered Forensic Psychologist and as such, specialises is working with couples / families, victims of crime (childhood or adulthood) and offenders. She is recognised as a Court Expert in both the Family Court of WA and the Criminal Courts and as such, is regularly asked to undertake psychological assessment and provide opinion in these arenas.

PACT Psychology Services provides counselling and psychotherapy for teenagers and adults and for individuals, couples, families, groups and organisations. PACT's therapists can assist you address a wide range of issues. Both Kirstin and Nicole have undertaken formal training and have many years of experience in counselling, psychology and psychotherapy. Kirstin and Nicole also run "Journey to Self-Awareness" groups. You can see Kirstin and Nicole during business and after hours.

Damon Kendrick - Exercise Physiology Remedial Massage.

Over 25 years experience in exercise physiology. Fitness testing and exercise prescription on over 30,000 individuals 10 years experience as a lecturer in natural medicine.

In 1974 Damon lost a leg as a result of a shark attack. He was 14 years old at the time. Since then he has gone on to become an elite athlete in a number of different sports. This sporting experience has made him acutely aware of the needs of athletes at all levels and with his experience in exercise science and massage, makes him one of the most highly qualified remedial theripists in WA. He uses a range of treatments for the greatest benefit and draws on a long history of experience and training.

Katie Callaway - Remedial Massage Therapy.
Bach.H.Sc.N.M. Dip.App.Sc.R.T

Katie started massaging her family and friends 12 years ago after learning massage from a friend. She enjoyed it so much that she decided to undertake to Diploma of Remedial Therapies and later a Degree in Natural Medicine.

Katie commenced her first job, massaging the hands and feet of a 30 bed nursing home twice per week.

After graduating Katie worked alongside personal trainers, Chiropractors and other massage therapists to provide a massage service to her community.

Last year Katie began her own home based practice in Melbourne and now joins us here at Mt. Lawley Nutrition and Family health.

Katie aims to restore health by reducing pain and increasing movement in the neck, back, shoulders, arms, hands, hips, knees and legs using various massage techniques.

Katie is a provider for major health funds and is a member of the AAMT. She has also taught massage at the Australian College of Natural Medicine in Melbourne for the past 7 years and continues teaching for them at their East Perth campus.
