Most conditions causing pain and affecting movement can be treated effectively by this integrated, holistic approach as it addresses muscle, joint & nerve.
* NECK PAIN
* JAW PAIN & CLICKING
* SPORTS INJURIES
* SHIN PAIN
* POSTURAL PROBLEMS
* PLANTAR FASCIITIS
* DISC INJURY
* HEADACHE
* SHOULDER PAIN
Although specialising in the treatment of muscle, joint & nerve dysfunction, as a doctor of Chinese medicine Brett utilises his integrated approach to treat a variety of non-musculoskeletal complaints.
Myotherapy
Myotherapy is an integrated approach to the assessment & treatment of pain & restricted movement.
Myotherapy can be used in the acute & chronic stages of injury or as a preventative measure by ensuring that joints and muscles function at their optimal level.
There is a general misunderstanding that myotherapy is remedial massage.
Graduates of the 4yr degree program utilise soft tissue techniques such as massage, however this is only one of several methods of treatment that may be employed.
Other methods of treatment include joint mobilisation, dry needling & corrective exercises.
Chinese Medicine
Chinese medicine is a holistic approach to health.
Combining a comprehensive method of assessment with herbal medicine and acupuncture, it often provides effective treatment for many common ailments including ear infections, acute or recurrent bladder infections, headache, back pain, diarrhoea and constipation, acute & chronic cough, insomnia, hot flushes as well as endometriosis.
Dry Needling
Dry needling is a method of treatment, which utilises very fine needles to deactivate contracted areas within muscle.
There are several methods of dry needling including superficial dry needling where needles are inserted to only 4mm. This process is generally completely pain free.
Discovered by Dr. Peter Baldry, a Western medical practitioner, the technique is now widely recognised as an effective method of treating pain and restoring function.
There is a great deal of scientific research supporting the use of dry needling and as a result it is now being embraced worldwide.
Dr. Brett Rawlings has been teaching dry needling at undergraduate level for 7yrs and frequently conducts post-graduate seminars for practitioners.
