SERVICES

Welcome to Julia Willoughby - Mother and Baby Yoga and Support, Specialising in Pre and Post Natal Yoga and Massage

Discover the many benefits of prenatal yoga!

Many midwives and obstetricians recommend yoga for pregnancy women because of the many benefits it can bring. Whether you are intending to give birth at the Birth Centre, home or hospital yoga is a great preparation for body, mind and spirit.

Regular classes can help you to:
  • Relieve back pain
  • Strengthen your body to prepare for an active birth
  • Understand your body and how to use it to ease the birth process
  • Experience deep relaxation and the ability to let go
  • Practice simple meditation
  • Develop a trust in your body and understand how it was designed to birth your baby
  • Examine your beliefs about birth and focus on the positive
  • Use visualization and imagery for labour
  • Be comfortable with positions which will facilitate your labour and birth
  • Learn breathing practices as tools for labour (and mothering)
  • Increase flexibility
  • Develop a sense of inner calmness and equanimity

Classes held in Pearce and Tuggeranong

Regular PARTNER SESSIONS are held where partners and support people learn simple, yet effective tools to help you during labour. They include:
    • Massage and acupressure techniques to reduce pain and keep labour moving along. Massage during labour has been shown to shorten the length of labour and reduce the need for pain medication.

    • Active birth positions to promote a more straightforward birth

    • Other great support techniques to help support people be involved, make a difference and provide a caring, positive environment for birth

  • Mother and Baby Yoga and Support Group

A lovely group where you can catch up with friends from pre-natal yoga or make new ones!

Bring along your baby (6 weeks to crawling) and enjoy an hour of yoga, songs, massage and yoga with the baby, relaxation followed by a circle time to share the joys and challenges of mothering

These sessions will help you to relieve tension and tightness in your body and calm and relax your mind, helping you to mother in a calmer way.
The yoga and strengthening work will help to tone your abdominals and pelvic floor muscles and speed your recovery from birth.

In these classes each mother’s unique way of mothering is honoured and respected and no one way of parenting is promoted.

A great way to connect with other new mums!
