THE ONLY CLINIC IN BRISBANE DEDICATED TO CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY - A GENTLE, SUBTLE, PROFOUND WAY TOWARDS BETTER HEALTH. Jenny says, "It's all we do. It's what we are. You need to make sure that, if you are looking for a Craniosacral Therapist, you find one who is fully qualified."
SERVICES The Iona Clinic provides Craniosacral Therapy (CST) for everyone who wants to improve their health and well-being.
Jenny Palmer and Kathy Daw are fully trained and qualified Craniosacral Therapists who offer a unique service for those who seek this extraordinary and effective therapy for a wide range of disorders, pain, illness or disease.
In short, CST removes trauma from the body. Symptoms of trauma have their source in physical, emotional or core issues (often a combination of these). Trauma in your system causes pain, illness, chronic or debilitating conditions. For more information on trauma and its effects in your system, go to: http://www.cranio.ie/10things.html
EXECUTIVE STRESS ???? We understand and can help with the build-up of STRESS, TENSION AND ANXIETY that comes from everyday pressure in the workplace (or life in general). We offer a limited number of evening and Saturday appointments to fit in with your busy schedule.
Craniosacral Therapy is especially effective for helping children with AUSTISM (ASD) including ASPERGER'S SYNDROME, ADD, ADHD and other disorders or difficulties. Jenny says, "As a mother of a young adult with Asperger's Syndrome, I am acutely aware of the suffering that children and families can experience when faced with such challenges."

WE ALSO OFFER A FREE NEWBORN CHECK FOR BABIES UP TO 6 MONTHS OF AGE. (One FREE 30 minute session for assessment and treatment of birth trauma, feeding or sleeping difficulties. Or just to reassure yourself.)
PAIN ???? Ring and make an appointment now. "I suffered from pain for over 25 years following a car accident in my teenage years. I went to everyone I could find to help me get rid of the pain. A lot of modalities helped - for a few days or a week at most. Craniosacral Therapy has provided me with years of NO PAIN. It was a small miracle in my life", says Jenny.
"Often, as students of Craniosacral Therapy, we joked that people come to CST as a last resort. Perhaps it should be called "Last Resort Therapy". Why not give it a try."
BY APPOINTMENT ONLY - please call Jenny on 0432 3700 20 for appointments on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Saturday.
Please call Kathy on 0417 897 011 for appointments on Thursday (until late)

*** What is Craniosacral Therapy?
CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle, non-invasive approach to whole-body health with subtle, yet profound results.
*** What happens in a session?
In a typical craniosacral session, you will usually lie (or sometimes sit) fully-clothed on a treatment table. Contact is made carefully and gently so that you will feel at ease with what is happening. People often fall asleep as the treatment can be profoundly relaxing. There is no intrusive probing into your life, and you do not need to talk during treatment.
With this gentle touch, the practitioner evaluates the craniosacral system by testing for the ease of motion and rhythm of cerebrospinal fluid. Techniques are then used to release restrictions in fascia, membranes and any other tissues that influence the craniosacral system. Craniosacral Therapy does not include painful or forceful manipulation, ever.
*** How does Craniosacral Therapy work?
The craniosacral (CS) motion can be felt anywhere on an individual's fully-clothed body. (In a similar way clinicians take the pulse of your heart at your wrist.) Valuable information can be gained by palpating the CS rhythm, which allows the practitioner to localise a pathological problem that might relate to musculoskeletal dysfunctions, inflammatory responses, adhesions, trauma, surgical scars, vascular accidents and many other conditions. As the asymmetry is eliminated and normal symmetrical craniosacral motion is restored, the problem is often resolved or in the process of being resolved.
*** What does it feel like?
The first thing you will probably notice is a sense of deep relaxation, which generally lasts throughout the session. With subsequent treatments this release of tension often extends into everyday life. The work can address physical aches and pains, acute and chronic disease, emotional or psychological disturbances, or simply help to develop well-being, health and vitality.
*** Who can benefit from a Craniosacral Therapy session?
Everyone. Craniosacral therapy is so gentle that it is suitable for babies, children, and the elderly, as well as adults and people in fragile or acutely painful conditions (eg after an accident or post-operatively). Treatment can aid almost any condition, raising vitality and improving the body's capacity for self-repair.

Ultimately, CranioSacral Therapy focuses on solving physiological problems at their source by using the individual's inherent self-corrective mechanisms. It has been shown over and over again, in thousands of cases, that it enhances general health, reduces accumulated stress, strengthens central nervous system function and improves resistance to disease.
We invite you to explore this therapy's potential for improving health, well-being and quality of life. Your proof will be in your results.
