Massage Modalities:.
*Swedish: A system of long strokes, kneading, friction, tapping, percussion, vibration and shaking motions that apply pressure between muscles and bones, rubbing in the same direction as the flow of the blood returning to the heart. Swedish massage feels good, relaxing and envigorating.
*Remedial: When muscles and tendons become damaged or impaired, knotted, tense or immobile, remedial massage provides a healing treatment that can be gentle or strong, deep or shallow. It holistically teats the whole body and traces the discomfort as far as possible back to the original cause.
*Deep tissue/Sports: Tailored to sporting injuries and ailments. It's not meant to be a relaxing massage and, indeed, can be quite vigorous at times. Not only used by professional sportpeople, it is of benefit to anyone who exercises,even mild exercise such as walking.
*Accupressure: One of the olderst and most widespread healing methods in the world. By using deep finger/elbow pressure on trigger points along the invisible sytem of energy channels or meridians, one can remove blockages promoting health and harmony throughout the body.
*Myofascial release: A gentle blend of stretches and massage. it uses hands-on manipulation of the entire body to promote healing and pain relief. The therapy is based on the idea that poor posture, physical injury, illness and emotional stress can throw the body out of alignment and cause its intricate web of fascia to become tight and constricted.
