Physiotherapy
Injury and persisting pain can stop you doing the things you want to do. Physiotherapy helps to facilitate recovery from injury and helps to relieve pain and other symptoms whilst tissue healing takes place.
The overall focus of physiotherapy is to improve your function. Exercise may not be your goal, but it may be the means to an end.
A consultation with Tam will give you:
Accurate information regarding your condition
Therapeutic exercises - may include yoga and breathing techniques
Relaxation/ meditation skills
Life long strategies to manage your health
Bodywork to enhance exercise
Maximum one to one therapy
Research shows that such approaches can greatly improve quality of life. Success will enable you to return to a healthier, happier and more active lifestyle.
The Understanding and Managing Persisting Pain Course is recommended for anyone who experiences persisting pain.
Fees for physiotherapy and private yoga sessions vary according to time and service. An initial 1 hour consultation costs $80, which is reclaimable through most private health funds.
Yoga
Yoga is synonymous with unity, realisation and liberation. Yoga includes a number of ancient practises designed to facilitate a journey of discovery. In the ‘western world’ Hatha yoga postures, pranayama and meditation are readily embraced. Many students come to appreciate the power of such practices to calm the mind-body and access the innermost peace that is our nature.
