EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGY CONSULTATIONS
Our tertiary qualified Exercise Physiologists are all accredited with the Australian Association of Exercise and Sport Science (AAESS). Our Exercise Physiologists can provide advice and exercise rehabilitation strategies to assist you in managing musculoskeletal injuries and/or chronic diseases such as Type II Diabetes, Heart Disease, Arthritis, Osteoporosis, Asthma, Cancer, Depression to name a few. Our Exercise Physiologists are trained in how to prescribe individualised exercise programs specific to your physical and functional needs. Contact us for more information on how an Exercise Physiologist can help you.
DIETETIC CONSULTATIONS
Our Dietitians will help you achieve your goals with personalised treatment and expert assistance. Too many people struggle with strict diets which are impossible to follow long term and often result in you feeling worse than before you started. We work with our clients to apply healthy eating principles which can be applied for life, not just another short term ‘diet’. The comprehensive consultations consist of a review of your medical history, body composition analysis, establishment of realistic goals and assessment of your current eating habits and daily routine. This information is used to develop personalised and practical dietary advice to meet your needs and lifestyle – an essential key to success. We also provide follow-up support in the form of individual reviews or group sessions.
MASSAGE
Our Massage Therapists are recognised by the AAMT and offer a wide range of massage including sports, remedial, deep tissue, relaxation and pregnancy. So whether you are looking for relaxation or assistance in the management of an acute or chronic injury we can help ease those tired, sore muscles. We also have a mobile massage therapist who is available to conduct corporate and workplace massage. Lymphatic Drainage massage combines gentle pressure with soft pumping movements in the direction of the lymph nodes in the body. Lymphatic drainage massage pressure is usually much lighter and the movements are generally slower than other forms of massage therapy. This form of massage stimulates the body’s secondary circulation - the lymphatic system to remove and filter any wastes, toxic build up and excess fluids from cells and increasing the production of lymphocytes – enhancing the function of the immune system.
MEDITATION
Meditation reduces the heart rate and consumption of oxygen, which greatly reduces stress levels. It relaxes and rejuvenates each part of the body right down to the individual cells. Meditation helps to prolong the body's period of growth and cell production and reduces the decaying process. Meditation has been proven to minimise senility, help with sleep disturbances, reduce stress levels and lower blood pressure. Negative tendencies reduce and the mind becomes clearer, calmer and more peaceful. During the class you will also learn techniques in relaxation and meditation to assist in relieving stress. We offer meditation as individual consultations and group based classes.
PERSONAL TRAINING
Your personal training session can be run as a 1 on 1 or as a private small group (up to 5 clients). Sessions are run in our private air-conditioned studio, in your home or local park. We offer a wide range of exercise regimes including circuit training, cardiovascular training, strength training, core stability, boxing and much more! All sessions are tailored specifically to suit you and your health and fitness goals. Ask us about our package deals that are guaranteed to save you money!
PILATES
Pilates is a specific system of exercises. In the event of an injury Pilates exercises can develop and maintain strength. It has also been shown to assist with rehabilitation. In more recent times Pilates has been embraced, as it provides the specific strength and core stability needed by so many people experiencing ongoing back pain. A Pilate’s program includes up to 250 exercises that focus on the use of the deep abdominal muscles, correct breathing and good posture.
The exercises are very gentle and suitable for clients with acute and sub acute pain. We design a program of exercises that does not aggravate their pain, but rather start to activate their deep stomach and back musculature to develop strength and control around their weakened segments.
Pilates is particularly recommended for individuals who suffer from back, neck, shoulder, and knee pain due to injury or poor posture.
Pilates is excellent for;
Reducing risk of injury
Rehabilitation after injury
Relieving chronic back pain
Balance and agility
Improving motor control
Increasing join flexibility and joint release
Improving self confidence and stress relief
Toning and body conditioning using conscious muscle control with a focus on pelvis stability and breathing
Clients with the following medical conditions may also gain benefits from Pilates:
Osteoporosis
Arthritis
Scoliosis
Mild multiple sclerosis
Pilates is suitable for all ages and levels of fitness.
YOGA
The physical exercises of yoga are called asanas and they provide a gentle stretching that acts to lubricate the joints, muscles, ligaments, tendons, and other parts of the body. These postures, or asanas, help to tone the nervous system, improve circulation, release tension, and increases flexibility. When performed in a slow and relaxed manner, they are designed to develop more than just the physical body; it also broadens and enhances the mental faculties. This class offers the chance to improve your mobility, flexibility and strength in low impact exercise. This class caters for all fitness levels.
GROUP FITNESS CLASSES

What is Exercise Physiology?
The American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) defines the clinical exercise physiologist as someone who:
"...works in the application of exercise and physical activity for those clinical and pathological situations where it has shown to provide therapeutic or functional benefit."
The term 'Exercise Physiologist' is not as easy to define as Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist or Chiropractor.
If you use an Australian Association of Exercise and Sport Science (www.aaess.com.au) Accredited Exercise Physiologist you are guaranteed that you are using the most qualified exercise professionals. AAESS is the Exercise Physiologist’s Professional Body and they use strict criteria to ensure all their members have a combination of a university Human Movement Science Degree and extensive practical experience before they can become accredited.
AAESS Accredited Exercise Physiologists have advanced skills to assess clients, to develop and monitor a safe and effective exercise or rehabilitation program, regardless of the client’s medical history or present fitness levels. All of our Exercise Physiologists are AAESS accredited and are actively involved in continuing professional education.
An Exercise Physiologist has the ability to match the immediate aspirations and needs of the client with appropriate exercise interventions, and developing strategies which promote and assist in interventions being undertaken regularly for a prolonged period of time. Interventions will rarely only involve physical activity and as a consequence the Exercise Physiologist does not practice in isolation but will collaborate with other recognised health practitioners.
An Exercise Physiologist is ideally suited to providing professional services in the area of exercise as a treatment strategy in physical rehabilitation, as a preventative strategy for disease prevention, and work hardening as part of establishing and sustaining functional independence.
