MYOTHERAPY TREATMENT

Reduces the strain, discomfort and stiffness associated with physical exercise.
Enhances movement and muscular power, by increasing the efficiency of muscles
TYPES OF TREATMENT
PREVENTIVE
A 'tonal’ myotherapy treatment is an excellent means of preventing muscle injury, and will aid in the reduction of emotional stress.
Depending on the amount of physical effort or emotional stress generated by the individual, as a general rule a visit to the myotherapist once a month for a preventive treatment, would be an ideal way of looking after your body.
CORRECTIVE
Myotherapy is an excellent means of alleviating acute muscle contraction caused by exercise, overuse, emotional tension or trauma.
As part of the corrective phase, myotherapy treatments should be coupled with evaluatory periods during which no treatment is performed by the myotherapist, but in which active muscle stretching is carried out by the patient.
These evaluatory periods enable the myotherapist and patient to gauge the effectiveness of the treatment.
REHABILITATIVE
An important and often neglected use of myotherapy is its role in the long-term rehabilitation of patients suffering from RSI, following trauma or ‘stroke’, and in the treatment of chronic musculoskeletal disorders, such as the muscle spasm associated with arthritis or invertebral disc degeneration.
