MASSAGE THERAPIES
Japanese Seitai Massage
Our signature Massage therapy is Seitai Japanese Massage (performed by sponsored Japanese professionals). This healing and therapeutic Japanese massage is literally translated as 'Bone Therapy'. Seitai was developed by Kiyoshi Kato during the last century in Osaka, Japan and involves combining elements of Shiatsu and Western Chiropractic techniques.
Seitai pays attention to the importance of both skeletal and soft tissue structures; its principle is to restore the proper skeletal frame by manipulating soft tissue.
Importantly, Seitai is different from Chiropractic work because it never involves direct hands-on adjustments of the skeleton. Further to this, Seitai uses methods different from massage, taking into account the entire muscle structure and origin/insertion of the muscle ultimately creating a unique and wonderful therapeutic massage.
Japanese Shiatsu Massage
Shiatsu massage is a traditional Japanese therapy that works on particular body points to relieve blockages and stimulate blood flow. Whereas acupuncture involves the use of fine, disposable needles, shiatsu relies on finger and hand pressure to provide relief. Perfect for both relaxation treatment as well as providing therapeutic health benefits, our Japanese staff will tailor the treatment and pressure to suit your individual requirements, all performed on futons in our Tatami lined Japanese themed rooms.
Traditional Thai Massage
Traditional Thai massage is a dry massage technique which combines yoga like stretching techniques with Eastern acupressure methodology. It is performed on Futon mats in our exquisite Tatami rooms, a perfect setting for total relaxation. It is a deeply relaxing massage, effective in reducing stress, increasing flexibility, improving circulation, relieving aches and pains and providing a feeling of overall wellbeing.
Remedial Massage
For specific injuries or for deep tissue work Sakura Lounge provided full remedial massage services including a HICAPS facility to claim your rebates upfront (if your fund allows). We are able to provide rebates for all funds, please book in advance and advise the fund you are with when making your booking.
Aromatherapy Massage
Our Aromatherapy treatments are relaxing and healing oil massages. Using only the finest essential oil blends, our treatments are designed to relax, rejuvenate, treat tired athletes, or detoxify our heavily laden bodies. You can choose one of our specifically designed blends or have your therapist design one specifically for you!
Swedish massage
This oil based massage is primarily designed to increase the oxygen flow in the blood and release toxins from the muscles. A great sports massage, Swedish massage shortens recovery time from muscular strain, it stretches the ligaments and tendons keeping them supple and pliable, as well as reducing stress levels, providing physical and emotional wellbeing.
Relaxation Massage
Perfect to harmonise, de-stress or just relax. Our relaxation massages are oil massages, combining classic Swedish massage techniques with our therapist’s individual traditional Eastern styles.
Reflexology / Foot Massage
This ancient therapy uses a method of foot massage, applying pressure to reflex zones mapped out on the feet . Reflexology is based on the soles of the feet mirroring the rest of the body and by working these areas of the feet, the corresponding body parts can be therapeutically treated.
HOLISTIC THERAPIES
Reiki
Reiki is a ‘hands on’ therapy that works via the flow of energy currents throughout the body. These circuits have been known and used by the Japanese for centuries and are well documented as Meridians. An unhindered flow, of these ‘Ki’ energy lines induces a calming state of relaxation and promotes confidence and health as it stimulates the bodies own spontaneous internal processes. The Reiki energy prompts your body to detoxify and to restore its own health and well being, often taking just a few days for the full beneficial effects to become apparent.
During a Reiki treatment the therapist will direct Ki as a gentle flow from head to toe along the front and back of the body, by placing and holding their hands on specific positions for several minutes at a time. Each session builds on the progress of the last and has an accumulative effect. To alleviate acute symptoms and for ongoing or long term conditions, a series of treatments in close succession is generally advised.
This non invasive technique complements any current medical, nutritional or holistic therapy being utilised.
The human body is always seeking its own natural state of balance, harmony, vigour and vitality. Thus as the energetic systems of the body are healed – physical discomfort, emotional tension and mental distress are relieved, greatly improving quantity and quality of life.
“Relax and Recharge with Reiki.”
Kinesiology
How it works ?
A blend of Chiropractic, Traditional Chinese Medicine and energy healing. Kinesiology is a tool that identifies stress within the body, mind and spirit.
A gentle approach is used to analyse the state of muscles and determine the nature and cause of stress whilst the client is fully clothed.
