Therapeutic Bodywork • Bodywork is like massage only slower and deeper. It releases bound connective tissue giving your muscles more room to move, allowing them to return to their fully relaxed position. The practitioner also engages the client in the process, by asking them to be in touch with the feelings they experience while the tissues are being released.
These sessions are individual to each practitioner, and as such there are different names depending on the practitioner: Soft Tissue, Deep Tissue, Integrative and Transformational. Each practitioner brings their additional learning and experience to the same core skills.
Remedial Massage • Using a variety of techniques including soft tissue bodywork, trigger points, passive and active stretching, myofascial release (MFR), transverse friction, and muscle energy transfer (MET) • Health Fund rebates available.
Lymphatic Drainage • This technique helps to clean out the lymphatic system, assists with detox and leaves you feeling more energetic.
ili ili Hot Stone Massage • Using a combination of full length body massage strokes, focussed kneading and hot stones, the body enjoys an extreme relaxation experience. It leaves you feeling very ‘mellow’ (to use a 60s word!)
The heat of the stone helps to soften the connective tissue that surrounds muscles, allowing the muscles to loosen and return to a more relaxed state.
Postural Integration • Postural Integration is ten, 90 minute sessions of soft tissue bodywork and postural awareness designed to release the old habits which create and sustain poor posture and pain in the body.
The result is a body which moves more easily, is more fluid and graceful. You will notice an enhanced sensitivity and awareness in the bodymind and with your body in a new, aligned posture, you will enjoy increased energy, vitality and sense of self.
This treatment is particularly good for those who: feel ‘stuck in a rut’; want something more but don’t know what; have long term pain or illness; who have ‘tried everything but nothing seems to change for me’.
Naturopathy • We can get so busy in our lives that we can forget to look after ourselves. This can lead to disorders in the body as our natural balance begins to breakdown.
Naturopathy concentrate on helping the client heal themselves holistically, that is, taking into account their entire physical, emotional, biochemical and social make up. The focus is on the person not the disorder.
Bodywork, listening, supplements, herbal tonics, and flower essences are some of the ways that are used to assist this process.
Reflexology • Reflexology is a science that works on the premise that all glands, organs and other parts of the body are reflected on the soles of the feet. These areas, known as reflexes, are stimulated using the thumbs and fingers, bringing about relief of conditions like swollen feet and ankles, sinus inflammation, constipation, and anxiety. It also promotes relaxation, releases energy blocks and energises the whole body system. Reflexology is a wonderful therapy that helps the body balance and heal itself, and you only need to take you shoes off.
