Permanent Weight Loss
Yes, it is possible to drop a dress size in one week, or lose four kilos by following a juice diet! But are you likely to keep it off once you resume "normal eating". To achieve permanent weight loss you have to learn about portion sizes and daily kilojoule intake. The bottom line to weight loss is kilojoules do count - if you eat more than you burn off, you won't lose excess fat and the weight stays on.

Diabetes Management - Type 1 or 2
To manage successfully your diabetes you have to lower your HbA1c levels, stabilize your blood glucose, and maintain a healthy weight. By understanding the foods you eat and their effect on your blood glucose levels you can start to understand why your blood glucose goes up and down. By then choosing the right foods in the right portions, you will become more in control of your diabetes.

High Cholesterol
You can lower your cholesterol without medication, particularly your LDL (bad cholesterol) by losing weight, increasing exercise and choosing a diet low in saturated fat and high in fibre. By focusing on your portion sizes and the types of foods you eat you can reduce your risk of coronary heart disease.

Children and Adolescent Weight Loss
Weight problems with children are the direct result of an imbalance between the amount of energy consumed and the amount of energy they expend during physical activity. To tackle the problem you need to target both food intake and activity habits. It is a process that involves the whole family to change a child's eating habits. By teaching your child to have set meals they can learn to regulate their appetite.

Sports Nutrition
To achieve your best you need to be able to train. But in trying to reach that goal you often forget to eat the right foods that will provide you with the winning formula. Many athletes find they lack energy and cannot cope with the demands of training and competing. It may be the timing of your meals rather than the foods you eat that can help you cope with the demands of being an athlete.
