What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a perfectly natural state that occurs in both man and animals. It is as much a part of our everyday functioning as seeing and hearing. There is nothing magical about hypnosis and, contrary to popular belief, it is not a state of sleep. It is better described as a state of heightened awareness and concentration together with a feeling of calm and deep relaxation. As hypnotherapists, we use the power of suggestion to induce the hypnotic state and then work with you to bring about a therapeutic change. Hypnosis would help you start doing something you would like to be able to do; or help you stop doing something you no longer wished to do. There are no recorded adverse side effects from hypnosis. It is totally safe, natural and non-addictive.

How does Hypnosis work?
The conscious mind, the part, which allows us to reason, solve problems and make decisions, accounts for only about 10% of our mental power. The subconscious mind, the feeling part of us, which contains all our emotions, memories, habits, belief systems and controls all of our internal organs, accounts for 90% of our mental power. This explains why our “will power” so often fails us when we depend on it to make changes. Most of our programming takes place during our childhood before we develop our ability to reason. If during our childhood we are praised, encouraged and supported, we develop a healthy self-esteem. However if we are put down, criticized, and told we are stupid, we will often develop poor self-esteem. Most of this programming we receive as children serves us well as adults, but we also receive negative messages from parents, teachers and peers. These can hold us back as adults. Hypnosis allows us to go back & remove any negative programming and work towards a more positive belief system.

How many sessions will I need?
For the best results, you will need to meet with me for three (3) sessions.
Initial consultation: 60 - 90 mins
Consolidation: 1 hour (within 2 weeks)
Follow up: 1 hour (within 2 months)
