Greg has recently joined the team at Top To Toe Heath @ Manningham Medical Centre in Lower Templestowe.
Greg works at Lower Templestowe on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Monday, Wednesday and Friday he is at St Albans.

What we do

Physiotherapy is a care concerned with the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management and maintenance of the body whether or not there has been an injury. We are open Monday to Friday 8.30am - 8.30pm and Saturday 9.00am - 1.00pm.

For the bed ridden and time permitting, our physiotherapists will do house calls. It is preferable however, that a patient attend the clinic for treatment, as modalities that may be needed for pain control cannot be taken on house calls.

We cater for a wide variety of patients and conditions including those covered by Workcover, TAC, DVA and Medicare. Unlike the former, private patients do not require a referral from a Doctor to receive physiotherapy treatment.

Main Road West Physiotherapy has a long working relationship with the Mercy Private Hospital in East Melbourne, managing the rehabilitation of patients before and after discharge from hospital following surgery.

Our qualified physiotherapists are available to cater to your physical needs, which may include the following;

Shoulder problems
Back pain, stiffness and instability
Neck pain, stiffness and headaches
Rehabilitation after fractures
Rehabilitation after surgery:

Joint Replacement
Muscle and tendon repairs

Physiotherapy uses a variety of methods to try and overcome impairment or disability, to restore physical bodily function. Exercise, in the form of stretching and/or strengthening in combination with education about your problem is the most important factor. Manual therapy is usually used also, which involves hands on techniques to improve range of motion and reduce pain, eg. joint mobilisation, massage or manipulation. Modalities such as ultrasound may be used for some soft tissue injuries, intermittent compression therapy for control and reduction of swelling, TENS and interferential therapy for pain relief. Heat or ice may also be used as an adjunct to treatment.

Facilities

Main Road West Physiotherapy conducts hydrotherapy classes at the St Albans Leisure Centre, Taylors Road, Keilor Downs, every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 12.30pm - 1.15pm.

Main Road West Physiotherapy & Sports Injuries Centre boasts a well equipped gymnasium enabling many forms of stretching and strengthening exercises and programs. Such facilities allow progression of rehabilitation programs from early stages to high level return to function or sport.

Individual Clinical Pilates consultations are available in the clinic for patients requiring management of conditions due to poor core stability.

We offer Hicaps facilities which allow you to claim your treatment costs at the time of your visit if you are privately insured. We are also accredited with many health funds thus giving you a higher rebate from your health fund for physiotherapy treatment. We also have EFTPOS facilities.

If you qualify for the Enhance Primary Care programme (EPC) you may be entitled to up to 5 physiotherapy visits per year funded by Medicare. To qualify you would have more than one chronic health problem and would need a referral from your general practitioner.
