Philosophy...
Giving up drugs is not the end goal, it is the beginning of another journey and our centre focuses not only on how to give up drugs but also how to live after drugs. Most rehab centers only have a 5% success rate and this is because people don’t know how to live after they quit.
We believe that to heal you have to address body, mind and spirit because drugs affect us on all these levels. But also you have to go further than just being substance free, you have to want to recapture the highs.
If you have used drugs you need to make that experience work for you by becoming part of your journey of self-realization.
All recreational drug users have to give up at some stage but are then left facing the inevitable post-drug depression, cravings amongst other symptoms. The Post Drug Healing and Training Centre has produced an alternative system and path forwards that assists drug users to gain an emotional/mental equilibrium and platform of understanding so they can regain control.
Our approach to treatment is not based on 12 step programs. Although many people have found 12 step programs to be helpful in their recovery and in dealing with their issues with substances from drugs to food to gambling. However, the issue of powerlessness and admittance of wrongdoing does not resonate with everyone. Our programs enable the client to be powerful over substances and our holistic drug recovery approach is based on identifying what can be turned into a positive from a drug past.
About the clinic...
The Post Drug Healing and Training Centre is located in the central metropolitan area of North Melbourne and is easily accessible by public transport. We are open six days a week.
The centre is a beautiful stone two-storey Victorian Terrace house built in the 1900s. We believe that the environment you are in is crucially important in healing and the interior of our centre has been designed to provide a sense of warmth, spirit, creativity and nurturing. We have a reception room, eight therapy rooms and a lecture room. All are comfortable and well ventilated with hydronic heating.
We specialize in the treatment of alcoholism, addictions and post-drug conditions including anxiety, depression, panic and stress related disorders. We treat marijuana addiction, cocaine addiction, methamphetamine addiction, heroin addiction, methadone addiction and alcoholism. We also work on correcting the imbalances caused by recreational drug use. Our Mind Body Spirit approach works equally well for any heavy addiction including cigarettes, sex or food.
All of the work conducted by The Post Drug Healing and Training Centre is carried out in the strictest confidence and in line with the current legislation regarding privacy.
