Kylie is a Counsellor and Creative Arts Therapist who invites you to express yourself creatively in a safe and supported way.
"Life is a rainbow. It has all colours and feelings. Liberate them through visual arts" (Capaccione).
SERVICES Kylie is a Counsellor and Creative Arts Therapist whom over the past fifteen years in the public sector has worked with adolescents, individuals and families in a range of settings and roles including Community-based Agencies, Government, Community Health Centres and Schools.
Alongside this work, under her business name, Express Yourself Creatively, Kylie runs creative arts workshops and therapeutic groups. Each group has been tailored to support group participants to explore a range of issues, or a specific issue, depending on group identified needs or goals. Kylie has presented about working with groups as a Creative Arts Therapist at conferences in Sydney, Far North Queensland and Singapore.
In her work, Kylie has found that words are often not enough, or too difficult for others to find to express how they feel or what they have experienced. Creative Arts Therapy has been invaluable way to support others to express themselves creatively. Kylie has found using creative arts provides a unique opportunity for others to connect with and explore their experiences and gain understanding about their ways of being in the world in a safe supported way.
Why use Creative Arts in Therapy?
Creative arts expand your ability to make the inner world of feelings visible in the outer world via the arts materials. Creative arts therapy can be helpful for you to explore a range of issues including:
Past and recent experiences
Stress, anxiety and depression
Grief and loss
Relationships
Self-image and identity
Feeling ‘ stuck ’ about something and not sure what your feelings mean.
Do I need to be artistic?
No. The process is free of judgement and is not about technique or style, rather about transferring your experiences and emotions into the art materials, representing outwardly what is held inwardly. Your artwork is then explored through discussion and perhaps further art making, leading to personal understandings, clarity and growth.
Express yourself creatively in a safe and supported way.
