Welcome to Camberwell Medical Centre

At Camberwell Medical Centre we are committed to finding the most appropriate and effective way to help you with any health matter.

Our aim is to create a state of wellness and vibrancy in you and your optimal health is our goal. To achieve this we draw on a variety of complementary therapies.

Our knowledge of both conventional and natural medicine enables us to offer you excellent treatment drawn from a variety of diciplines.



Dr Christopher Bagot

Graduating in 1975 from University of Adelaide, he did his intern year at the Royal Adelaide Hospital in 1976. In 1977 he spent 6 months doing obstetrics at the Queen Victoria Hospital in Adelaide where obtained his Dip.(Obst.) R.C.O. G and he spent 6 months at the Adelaide Children’s Hospital practising paediatric medicine. In 1977 he spent 4 months doing psychiatry. He then studied and worked in the United Kingdom for 3 years in a variety of medical fields including working as the Medical Registrar at the Royal London Homoeopathic Hospital. In 1979 he obtained a degree in homoeopathic medicine M.F.(Hom) in London and in 1981 he returned to Australia starting up his own general practice in Melbourne. He has been working in general practice ever since. He is vocationally registered.

He was member of the Board of Australasian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine and lectured for this college. He was also the Vice-president of the Australasian College of Herbal Medicine and senior lecturer. Both of these colleges’ prime purposes are to educate doctors in the scientific and ethical use of nutritional and herbal therapies in practice. Dr Bagot also has lectured in nutritional medicine for the Graduate School of Integrative Medicine at Swinburne University of Technology.



Dr Iggy Soosay

Dr Soosay graduated with a medical degree from Monash University. In 1977 he commenced general practice and has continued in it since then. He is vocationally registered. Since 1979 he has been investigating and studying other ways of treating patients and this has taken him overseas to study nutritional and herbal medicine. He was a founding board member of the Australasian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine (ACNEM)

He was the Chairman of the (ACNEM) and its senior lecturer for over 25 years. He was also the Founding President of the Australasian College of Herbal Medicine. Both of these colleges’ prime purposes are to educate doctors in the scientific and ethical use of nutritional and herbal therapies in practice. Dr Soosay was a part-time lecturer at the Medical School at Monash University and the Graduate School of Integrative Medicine at Swinburne University of Technology. He has lectured to trainee registrars at the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. He has also lectured doctors at various Divisions of General Practice.

He is on the International Advisory Board of the peer-reviewed UK-based Journal of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine.

Dr Soosay was until Oct 2005 a member of the TGA’s Complementary Medicine Evaluation Committee that advises the TGA on safety and efficacy issues in complementary medicine and was also a member of the Joint RACGP/AIMA Working Party on Complementary Medicine.
