Reiki
The word Reiki is two Japanese words - Rei which means "Higher Power or God's Wisdom" and Ki means "life force energy".
Reiki is "spiritually guided life force energy."
Reiki is increasingly recognized for its ability to heal. Energy healing is NOT a religion; rather it is a spiritual practice, which complements any faith.
It is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us. If your "life force energy" is lowered, then we are more likely to feel stressed or sick, and when it is raised, we are more likely to be happy and healthy.
Reiki energy has several basic effects: it brings about deep relaxation, destroys energy blockages, detoxifies the system, provides new vitality in the form of healing universal life energy, and increases the vibrational frequency of the body.
Reiki restores energy balance and vitality by relieving the physical and emotional effects of unreleased stress. It gently and effectively opens blocked chakras, and clears the energy bodies, leaving one feeling relaxed and at peace.

I have heard that Reiki can be sent to others at a distance. How does this work?

Answer:
Yes, in Reiki II, a Practitioner is given three Reiki symbols. These symbols are empowered by the Reiki II attunement. One of these symbols is for distant healing. By using a picture of the person you would like to send Reiki to or by writing the person’s name on a piece of paper or simply by thinking of the person and also activating the distant symbol, you can send Reiki to them no matter where they are. They could be hundreds of miles away, but it makes no difference. The Reiki energy will go to them and treat them. -

PLEASE READ A TESTIMONIAL I RECEIVED in December 2008 FOR A DISTANCE REIKI TREATMENT, BELOW
Dear Trace,
Our heartfelt appreciation for the "healing" you sent to Daniel, here is a brief outline on what happened.
Daniel is 21, in early November he fell from a roof onto concrete and was gravely injured. Daniel suffered a major head trauma and was air lifted to St George Hospital intensive care unit and was in a coma. He also had other physical injuries, however, his brain injury was life threatening.
When I wrote to you about Daniel's condition, we were desperate. On five occasions in the first few days after the accident, he nearly lost his life. His parents were told he probably wouldn't survive. Over a number of days they stabilised him but on the night I wrote to you they had unsuccessfully tried to bring him out of the coma.
Eventually, after all the prayers and your Reiki healing, Dan regained consciousness, and although they believed he would be brain injured he would live. The side of his that was damaged would affect his speech, vision and memory.
Over the past couple of weeks, he has made an extraordinary recovery (still early days) and unbelievably he was allowed to go home to his family two days ago. Whilst Dan has a long convalescence ahead - his long term prognosis is now very good. With cognitive therapy and time for his physical wounds to heal, they are optimistic about the future.
This was a boy who we truly believed may not live and now we are just giving thanks for the gift of his life.
When I sent you Dan's photo Trace, I put my blind faith in Reiki healing and words can't express how we are all feeling about this remarkable recovery.

Question:
Is it safe for pregnant woman?
A. Since Reiki is guided by the Higher Power, the Reiki energy will know the condition of the client and adjust appropriately. Reiki can only do good. Many pregnant women have received treatments with great benefit to them and their unborn child. It has also been used during child birth. Tests conducted at Harford Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut showed that Reiki used during pregnancy reduced anxiety by 94 percent, nausea by 80 percent, pain by 78 percent and improved sleep by 86 percent.

What about babies?
A. Babies love Reiki. It is very healthy for them. Don’t worry about it being too strong. Reiki automatically adjusts to what the baby needs.

Can I treat animals or plants?
A. Animals love Reiki too. They seem to have a natural understanding of what Reiki is and its benefits. Once a pet has received a Reiki treatment, they will often let you know that they want more.

CHAKRAS
Now we know our body is composed not only of physical elements such as muscles, bones, nerves, organs, glands, etc.; it also has a subtle energy system and chakras through which 'life force energy' flows.
The energy bodies house our chakras, enabling them to work somewhat like valves by facilitating the circulation of life force energy through the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies.
Chakra is a Sanskrit word meaning wheel, or vortex, and it refers to each of the seven energy centres of which our consciousness, our energy system, is composed. Chakras, or energy centres, function as pumps or valves, regulating the flow of energy through our energy system.
When you feel tension in your consciousness, you feel it in the chakra associated with that part of your consciousness experiencing the stress, and in the parts of the physical body associated with that chakra. Where you feel the stress depends upon why you feel the stress. The tension in the chakra is detected by the nerves of the plexus associated with that chakra, and transmitted to the parts of the body controlled by that plexus. When the tension continues over a period of time, or to a particular level of intensity, the person creates a symptom on the physical level.
