Energy Source Yoga Studio offers a variety of ways to incorporate the reduction of stress and enhance wellbeing in your life. We teach you how to unwind and strengthen to support yourself through techniques used in Yoga, Meditation, Zen Shiatsu and Rei-ki.

Group Classes are a great way to experience yoga. We offer a variety of classes, please see our timetable for more details.

Corporate Yoga Classes are an opportunity to have yoga at work and give back to your staff and business. It is very popular with staff as it helps to reduce stress, enhance wellbeing, and improves productivity. The classes are designed to build a neutral and safe environment for participant to unwind from the stresses that do occur as a result of modern work and lifestyle habits.

Private Yoga Classes & Yoga Therapy addresses your needs through Yoga’s many tools that intend to help re-empower the individual using a therapeutic approach. In these classes one on one guidance is given so that a personalized Yoga practice can be developed. Some tools used include:
  • conscious and mindful breathing
  • appropriately sequenced and individualized physical movements
  • visualization and meditation
  • guided yoga nidra (deep relaxation)
  • use of sound and mantra
Each personalized Yoga practice is carefully constructed to stay well within your capacity, and over time is developed. Should you desire to have a Yoga practice for home you are taught the practice and provided with accompanying diagrams so that you can follow the program at home. Throughout this process each client is strongly encouraged to revisit the prescribing Yoga teacher when questions, concerns or personal feedback surface. Depending on your needs, follow up sessions may be necessary in order to revise and update their personal home practice. Conditions helped by Yoga include: back and neck pain, low and high blood pressure, pregnancy complaints, weight loss, joint and muscle stiffness, reduced mobility, female health problems, digestive problems, asthma, chronic fatigue, stress, overactive mind, sleeping issues, self image portrayal to mention a few. We strongly advocate an intelligent approach to yoga, which must adapt itself to respect the needs, abilities and context of every individual.

Zen Shiatsu is a traditional hands-on healing therapy derived in Japan. In a treatment natural and appropriate body weight (of the fingers, thumbs, elbows, forearms, feet and knees) is used while moving along specific points on the body. It is combined with stretches, joint rotations, food and lifestyle recommendation to give a thorough holistic treatment to rebalance the flow of energy along the energy lines (meridians) of the body. The results support to balance many conditions experienced, such as the reduction of physical pain and the relaxation on mental, emotional and physical levels. it is a deeply relaxing experience and regular sessions help to prevent the build up of stress in the system. Common conditions helped by Zen Shiatsu include: back pain, migraines, headaches, dizziness, pregnancy complaints, water retention, joint pain and reduced mobility, menstrual problems, digestive problems, asthmatic symptoms, sports injuries, depression, anxiety, stress and insomnia to mention a few.

Rei-ki is an energy renewal technique that brings deep relaxation and healing to the receiver. It means 'universal life force' and is known today as the simplest art of life energy renewal. Rei-ki will improve the results of all medical treatment, acting to reduce negative side effects, shorten healing time, reduce or eliminate pain, reduce stress, and help create optimism. It is generally experienced as calming and comforting, however in some circumstances Rei-ki can trigger a reaction or spontaneous healing crisis, by rapid release of stored toxins, as in homoeopathy and other natural therapies. This is seen as a positive sign to do more Rei-ki until the temporary physical response passes. Brainwave patterns slow when the energy flows to the same when in meditation, 8-10 Hz (alpha). Rei-ki has been demonstrated on medical monitoring equipment to enhance the uptake of oxygen in the haemoglobin by up to 30 per cent. A routine pattern of hand positions is followed in a Rei-ki treatment, resting without pressure on the body with a concentration over the vital organs or elsewhere if specifically required. Many people fall asleep during these soothing treatments due to its gentle nature.
