SERVICES To see a pregnant woman blossom, nurturing the life force within, is a miracle of nature and one which should be honoured. The challenge of giving birth to that life prepares new parents for the enormous amount of giving required in their new role.
Providing support in this journey is one which Jodie Gregson offers in her series of classes.
Active birth, yoga and beyond reflects a philosophy Jodie has been living and teaching for the past 20 years. Acknowledging the need to merge eastern and western forms of body awareness and teaching in a way that is relevant to today's woman is Jodie's aim and her vehicle has been based on her practice of Yoga.
Jodie Gregson is passionate about the parenting experience and supporting her students through this amazing journey. As a vehicle, Yoga can provide the birthing woman with a natural, positive and empowering birth experience - with the right information, new parents can be confident in the decisions they make during pregnancy, through labour and in the first months of being a parent.
Having experienced first hand the benefits of Yoga in the birth of her own 3 daughters, Jodie combines this discipline with Childbirth and Early Parenting Education.
Jodie presents her classes in a relaxed and inclusive environment encouraging all participants to enjoy their special journey.
Yoga for Pregnancy and Childbirth
Women today juggle career, home and pregnancy with many working to within weeks of giving birth. While most women accomplish this with ease, it doesn't allow time to enjoy pregnancy and begin the journey into parenthood. Taking time out to nurture the body and spirit and get in touch with the baby within, is important in preparation for labour and promoting an empowered birth experience.
Yoga for Pregnancy and Childbirth focuses on preparation of the body through breathing and exercises for use during labour as well as keeping mum in shape. While these classes cover yoga postures and movement, emphasis
is placed on positions which will assist in an active birth.
Stretches, pelvic floor exercises and breathing are covered with the use of
visualisation to keep the mind, body and baby connected.

Post Natal Yoga for Mother and Baby
The birth of a baby is a period of great transition for parents. For women who have enjoyed the Yoga experience during pre-birth, it is encouraging to know that although their new role is all encompassing - there is a window to take 'time out'
at least once a week within a supportive environment.
Baby is most welcome in this Yoga class which caters for new mums. Gentle exercises, breathing and stretching is covered with the specific view of easing the mind and body back in shape, post birth.
A great opportunity to share your new experience of being a mother and gain information from other new mums.

Active Birth Workshop for Pregnant Women and
their Partner's/Support person/s
Just as we are individuals, our labour experience will be unique. Having the ability to make informed decisions while birthing is the key to an empowered experience for new parents.
Consistent and good support has been shown to improve the birth outcome. As a 'labour rehearsal' this workshop provides partners with the skills to assist the woman with movement and positioning during labour and provide a comfortable safe and reassuring environment.
This positive and practical workshop is to ensure the mother, partner or support person feels confident and empowered in labour.
* Understanding the birth process - normal physiology of the stages of labour
* Positions and movement for labour and birth - working actively with your body to
birth your baby
* Practical ways to help and support the labouring mother
* Practice relaxation skills, breath awareness, massage, visualisation techniques for
use in labour
* Learn about natural forms of pain relief / psychological ways to embrace the intensity of labour
* Creating a calm and reassuring birth environment
* Helping the mother to become more informed, empowered and confident in her
own ability to give birth
