My Professional aim:

What is a Naturopathic consultation?
An initial Naturopathic consultation with me involves taking a detailed history of your past and recent health. This may also include family predispositions and tendencies as these could add some extra light to your own problems. You may want to bring any recent blood test results or current medications with you to the appointment, or tests can be ordered if necessary.
Together we discuss your concerns and the ways possible to ensure positive healthy outcomes, realistically.
The level of commitment and expected time needed to see this improvement is also discussed during the first appointment as this is a very important aspect to the overall success of your personal back to health regime/plan.
I work with people of all ages, children are most welcome, they respond very well to natural therapies which are non-invasive and very safe.
The consultation takes approximately 1 hour and is of course confidential.
Health fund rebates apply with extras cover.
What Therapies are Involved?
Iridology
Iridology is a tool I can use during consultation. It is painless and is simply a light shone into the eye which assists me to see the colours & markings evident in all iris's. These markings gives individual clues that will enhance investigations.
Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis
HTMA is a type of nutritional assessment using a small lock of hair as a sample, easily taken in clinic. The sample is then sent away to the laboratory for testing. The analysis is returned to us both in the form of practitioner and patient reports. Evaluation of the report helps us to proceed with your treatment plan to wellness and can be followed up later.
Lifestyle & Nutrition
Of course lifestyle & nutrition play a huge part in your wellness and thus will be assessed as part of the consultation. Suggestions may be made as to how you can best enhance your health by altering your food intake, and finding the most suitable exercise regime for you. Help can be given to you in printed form eg. patient information hand outs or shopping lists, food product suggestions etc.
Herbal, Homoeopathic Medicines or Nutritional supplements
Natural medicines are prescribed and work brilliantly to relieve you of symptoms of acute illness such as colds, flues, hayfever, sore throat, hear infection and sinus congestion. Also acute gastric upsets and bowel imbalance. Perfect especially for children who have their immune systems trialled regularly and if you want to avoid repetitive antibiotic or analgesic use.
Importantly natural medicines can be used as part of an ongoing treatment plan for chronic problems that 'dont seem to go away'
eg. poor skin, musculo-skeletal pain, persistant gastrointestinal or respiratory disease.
Medicines can assist with sleep & mood disorders. These problems can affect people of all ages for various reasons at different times in their lives they can occur occasionally or be persistant.
Natural therapies is a perfect alternative to pharmaceutical drugs which can eventually become a health burdon, as dependence on these types of medications is common.
Subsequent Appointments
Follow up appointments can be spaced according to severity of illness or depending on the likely expected improvement time frame. The plan may change at these points as your health patterns change. This includes differing the prescription or diet subtly to allow continuing improvement.
Every person has a different strength of 'vital force' thus reaching homoeostasis will also be different, some people require more time to achieve wellness than others.
These ‘follow ups’ usually take between ˝ -3/4 hour and like the Initial consultation are claimable from your health fund if you have extras cover.
Medicines may also be covered by your fund, so check that out!
Swedish Massage
Swedish Massage combines relaxation strokes with firm but gentle hands. Tender/pressure points may require gentle stimulation to release tension and blocked energy to the muscles. The massage strokes can be more gentle or firmer to your need.
Initial massage consultations too include a discussion as to the current & past state of your musculoskeletal health with up front suggestion of how much improvement can be expected during my care.
Postural and sleeping improvements may be advised as well as stretches, types of exercise and supplements specific to you, which will enhance your mobility and endurance plus prevent injuries.
I use Lavender laced oil plus Natural Anti inflammatory Homoeopathic cream to specific ares that need that ‘special attention’.
These topicals are allergy free and of best quality to ensure no skin irritation, thus are perfectly safe for all individuals including children and babies.
Biomesotherapy
The history taking and discussion of an initial consultation applies also to the very popular European, in particular German treatment that is Biomesotherapy.
Not a new therapy but one that has been highly effective for several decades overseas, becoming more widely known throughout Australia too as a successful therapy for sporting injuries.
The therapy can be describes as:
Small Subcutaneous injections of saline solution above the injury site, simultaneously a Homoeopathic medicine is given orally which is
immediately absorbed and drawn to the now stimulated area to promote the natural healing responses of the body.
A small prick is felt, similar to acupuncture, as the very fine needle does not enter the muscle, to ‘stimulate the cutivisceral responses of healing’.
After the treatment the same medicine in tablet form is taken home and used over a two week period so that the stimulated treatment site has medicine drawn to it daily, in between concurrent (if required) treatments.
Designed to treat acutely, over strained ligaments, sports strains & muscle pain, however Biomesotherapy is also useful in treating chronically ‘old’ injuries and arthritic joints that don’t seem to respond to any other treatments. Certainly a therapy worth ‘giving a go’ when so far no other relief has been found.
Ear Candling
Ear candling is a therapy that is useful for clearing of sinuses, nasal and ear passages where blockages build from excess ear wax, mucous congestion, dust/foreign particles, or dry skin.
A gentle ‘chimney effect’ occurs as the beeswax candle burns causing a gentle drawing up and evaporation of inner ear and nasal impurities.
A soft crackle is all that is heard and nothing is felt during treatment.
Ear candling is a safe alternative to hot water syringe treatment, it is gentle and relaxing to have done and suitable for all ages especially wonderful for children whose inner ear tubes are narrow and sensitive.
Great for maintaining clear healthy ear & nasal passages when sinus problems are chronic.
Very popular in my clinic with children and also those who suffer ear problems when flying.
For more information, please contact me and I will be happy to answer any questions you may have regarding any of my services.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Regards Julie
