SERVICES ABOUT ME
Dianne has dedicated the last 20 years to learning movement and alignment through dance and yoga. After receiving a Diploma in dance, her path led to yoga and wanting to teach. Dianne undertook a full-time yoga apprenticeship under the direction of Shandor Remete. She has now been teaching yoga for over 10 years, during which she has studied metaphysics and a Diploma in Zen Shiatsu with Jack Marshall, Director of The Zen Renaissance Healing Centre.
The principles of working with the meridians (energy channels) are applied during classes to specifically strengthen the organic body, improving the natural cycle of health on all levels.
Antara Yoga
Antara translates to “as within/as without”. Our energy field (aura) interpenetrates our physical body & surrounds us – it creates our physical self. When we really grasp this concept of inter-connection, then we understand that in aligning & working our body & focusing our mind through the practice of yoga, we are transforming our energy field, i.e. - physical, emotional, mental & spiritual bodies. This process requires patience, persistence, bringing forth the power of will & surrendering our fears & ego to trust. The benefits are experienced on all levels.
Classes are structured practicing hatha yoga postures with attention to physical alignment, breathe & internal body work.
Our minds are constantly active with thoughts & their accompanying emotions. If this stress is not cleared, it becomes stored in our body, causing stiffness, pain & disease.
Yoga is a healing art to free the body from discomfort. The postures are designed to create a balance of flexibility & strength, leaving us feeling healthy, strong, creative & energized.
Yoga is Transformational
What are we transforming? Our body, mind, and energy field. Through yoga asanas, we are able to access many layers of both the physical and energetic. This is learnt and understood through the process - the actual experience of practice.
The style of yoga taught is Hatha Yoga, which translates to Sun/Moon. This suggests that we are balancing our masculine/feminine energies, our action/intuitive nature. Hatha has also been translated as "force" - this is not of the body, but of the mind. We often forget that we have the power over our mind - our thoughts and attitudes. As our mind becomes disciplined, we develop a strong Will, a Will strong enough to think and act in a way that will only benefit us, creating peace and joy in our life.
We all want our body to feel good, to be toned, strong, flexible and graceful. This requires commitment. It is important to make a commitment to yourself. Choose a time for you and stick to it. The whole of your life and the people in your life can only benefit when you are regularly putting yourself in a space of healing - of reconnecting with your own centre of truth and light.
