NATUROPATHY

A naturopath works holistically by taking the whole person into account. Naturopathy is an individualised approach that aims at treating the underlying cause and not just the symptoms of disease. It assists your body's own healing process by strengthening the areas of weakness. Herbal medicine, nutrition, flower essences, dietary and lifestyle advice are used by naturopaths to assist the body's own healing potential and increase wellbeing. The naturopathic approach is gentle and non-invasive.
MANUAL LYMPH DRAINAGE (MLD)
Do you suffer from lymphoedema? Do you want to improve the removal of waste products from your body?
MLD is a gentle form of massage. It aids the removal of waste products from the connective tissue and is important in cases of lymphatic congestion. MLD is useful in the treatment of certain types of lymphoedema, stress, after surgery, chronic sinusitis, acne and other skin conditions.
It reduces swelling, improves healing and has a relaxing effect on the nervous system.
Combined Decongestive Therapy includes MLD, compression bandaging, skin care and exercise and is important in the treatment of lymphoedema.

What happens at your initial visit?
During the first consultation a thorough case history is taken, including family history, diet, lifestyle and environmental factors. Iridology, tongue and nail analysis are part of the physical examination. Treatment is tailored to your needs and may include herbal and/or nutritional supplements as well as dietary and lifestyle advice.
If you have come for MLD a thorough case history will also be taken followed by MLD. Advice about how to care for your lymphoedema and exercise will be given to you during this consultation.
Please bring any medications and supplements you take to your first consultation.
