Feldenkrais Directions

Feldenkrais Directions is the private practice of Ruth Frommer, which has been, established 1992. Ruth has created a holistic health practice that specializes in the Feldenkrais Method, NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) and massage. Ruth utilises these approaches to assist you achieve your optimal ability in movement and daily activities at home, work and other leisure and creative pursuits.

The Feldenkrais Method

Who is suitable?
At Feldenkrais Directions Ruth sees a wide variety of people with health issues or those interested in improving their performance in for example sporting activities the arts, or those interested in personal development.

You can benefit if you have any of the following:
  • pain or discomfort in your body

  • ongoing neck or back pain

  • arthritiris or overuse injuries

What happens in an individual Feldenkrais lesson?
These sessions are one hour in duration, and suitable if you have a specific issue.In these sessions Ruth aims to:
  • Assess your movement throughout your whole body.

  • Find out what your limitations and frustrations are and what you would like to achieve

  • Highlight to you, your movement and postural habits

  • Increase the biomechanical efficiency of your movement

  • Reduce chronic muscular tension

  • Evoke a sense of relaxation and ease

  • Integrate improved movement into daily activities
Awareness Through Movement Classes- Monday Mornings 9.30-10.30am
Through mindful floor exercises enhance your movement and sense of well -being.Classes are designed to increase your body awareness,
improve your ease and range of movement
, evoke a sense of relaxation and rejuvenation, increase your flexibility, balance and improve your posture

Classes are suited to you if you are wishing to your movement abilities, reduce stress and feel better.

Performance and Personal Development
Ruth combines her skills in Feldenkrais and NLP to assist you improve your performance and to increase your self-knowledge.

NLP - Neuro Linguistic Programming
What is NLP?
NLP is an effective approach to assisting you to achieve your outcomes.By understanding how you organise your perceptions and thought processes,you have the opportunity to no longer act out of ineffective habits. Instead you discover how to organise your thinking and behaviours so as you are more adaptable and able to achieve your goals.

Ruth sees people for individual NLP sessions and conducts NLP courses

Individual sessions/Life Coaching
These sessions are similar in appearance to a counselling session.However, NLP uses a practical appraoch which assists you change your perspectives and provides you with strategies that enable you to better deal with personal or professional issues.

You can benefit from an Individual session/Life Coaching if you wish to:

  • Learn how to manage your emotional state and thinking.

  • Discover your priorities and how to increase your chance of achieving them

  • Decrease your anxiety levels in situations that you find demanding or challenging

  • Brighten your mood and be more positive

Courses in NLP
Creating Change- Introductory Course into NLP
This one day course will introduce you to some of the aspects of NLP.
These include:
  • Language Patterns

  • Eye Patterns

  • State Control


NLP Practitioner Certificate Course
This is the first level of NLP certification. The course extends over 80 hours during which you develop real skill in learning language patterns as well as the principles and strategies of NLP.Our aim is to teach you how to design your own solutions for the situation at hand so as you have a greater success rate in achieving your desired outcomes.

Once you have completed your Practitioner Certification you can progress to the next level of NLP,Master Practitioner Certification.

Massage
Relaxation Massage
Benefits
Relaxation massage is an effective approach to

Remedial Massage

Remedial or therapeutic massage aims at

Sessions
Relaxation and remedial massages are usually of a 1/2 hour or 1 hour.Ruth will be happy to advise you on the length of massage most suited to your health needs.
