WHAT IS AYURVEDA?
Ayurveda is the traditional holistic medical system of India, using a constitution based model for determining your state of health. Ayurveda describes three fundamental mind/body types, or doshas, called Vata, Pitta and Kapha, which embody different combinations of the five elements : air, ether, fire, water and earth. Each of us contain all doshas to varying degrees, and their balance can be determined through examination of your eyes, nails, tongue, skin, voice, by pulse diagnosis, and through the insight of the Ayurvedic practitioner. Because the five elements exist in us and in nature, your doshas can become aggravated or imbalanced due to inappropriate or inadequate diet, change of seasons, climate or lifestyle, and result in disease in the body.
Rather than treating the symptoms of disease directly, Ayurvedic treatment aims to rebalance your doshas according to your constitution (also known as your Prakriti), resulting in a body and mind that is healthy and sound. By becoming familiar with your own unique dosha pattern you can lead a life that is more in harmony with your individual nature.
Ayurvedic Medicine describes a complete system for restoring, maintaining and enhancing health, advocating the use of natural healing methods tailored to the individual - such as dietary advice and life style changes, Ayurvedic herbal remedies, Detoxification treatments (Panchakarma), Rejuvenation preparations (Rasayanas) and Yogic and Tantric practices.
HOW CAN AYURVEDA HELP ME?
Ayurveda's fundamental principle sees a wholistic, complete picture of your unique constitution. Many sicknesses and symptoms are a result of imbalances of your constitution. TESTIMONIALS
“Before seeing Raman Das, I experienced very long-standing mental and physical problems, including a lack of co-ordination, difficulty in concentrating, and a profound lack of energy. The results of my treatment, which includes a combination of yoga exercises, mineral and herbal supplements and dietary adjustments, have been little short of miraculous.
I have no hesitation whatsoever in highly commending the treatments offered by Vaidya Raman Das, particular to those who may suffer from chronic conditions.”

"Two years ago after surgery for cancer I was very depleted and suffering from great weakness. I could barely walk and all my body functions were very low and out of balance.
I was very grateful for my surgery and I knew in my heart I had to completely change my lifestyle to rebuild and strengthen my body and soul.
I was greatly blessed in being referred to the path of Ayurveda by a dear friend. Raman Das prescribed an enjoyable healing routine for me of easy to take herbs, dietary guidance, self massage and a half dozen yoga exercises. This is a positive pathway that I can easily follow.
Raman Das Mahatyagi is an Ayurvedic practitioner of great integrity and skill who always treats me with kindness, respect and understanding. My general health, strength and happiness have improved enormously since following my Ayurvedic path . I am enjoying life as never before and have the joy of witnessing my body and soul become stronger and stronger as time passes.
When I first came to Ayurveda I could only walk a few meters now I often take my new dog for leisurely walks. Ayurveda is a form of grace which can relieve the suffering of ill health and sorrow.
Thank you Raman Das !! "

"I was recommended to Raman Das by my yoga teacher as I suffered from chronic vertigo. No, I wasn’t afraid of heights as most people think, it was a balancing problem. I felt extreme dizziness, lack of concentration, eg. the ground moved like waves rolling along when I walked. Every step I took it felt like I was going to fall over. Because of this, I had a lot of time off work. I couldn’t even look down to iron my clothes, let alone cook. I was fairly incapacitated now when I look back.
Raman Das was my saviour. I took his herbs, oils, and all his advice because everything he told me I knew was important to my health being restored as I had been battling this for quite a few years. I couldn’t believe it, as the days, weeks and months went by I was feeling a lot better in a very short space of time eg. I could walk down the hallway at work without holding onto the wall. There were yoga poses I could begin to try again without getting that dizzy feeling and falling over. I couldn’t believe it. I am truly thankful to Raman Das whom I continue to see and cannot imagine my life without his expertise, herbs etc. Raman Das, I am eternally grateful and remain indebted to you forever. You gave me my life back. Thank you."
