Wholistic Natural Medicine incorporates the traditional healing of acupuncture, massage, herbal medicines and traditional dietary therapy, to optimise your body’s physiological efficiency and state of well-being.
These therapies strengthen the body’s resilience to stress, to illness & to injury, providing an ideal form of preventive medicine. Traditional Chinese Medicine is also used as curative medicine for a wide range of conditions.
This healing paradigm makes no distinction between the body, mind and spirit, therefore emotional and psychological aspects of any illness is addressed, concurrently with physical aspects.
In fact, there are very few conditions that traditional Chinese medicine cannot be used for. Some of the things we treat include...
Headaches & migraines, difficulty sleeping, nervous tension, pain, tinnitus, dizziness, Meniere's disease, inflammation, injuries, depression, anxiety, menstrual & menopausal problems, difficulty with conception, low sexual vitality, morning sickness, asthma, hay fever, respiratory problems, ulcers, irritable bowel syndrome, digestive problems, liver & gall bladder problems, bladder & prostate problems, skin problems and visual disorders.
A range of services include:
Acupuncture
Acupuncture has been used to increase the body’s physiological efficiency and wellbeing for thousands of years in Asia. This translates to a feeling of vitality and mental clarity. It also strengthens your body’s resilience to stress, illness and injury. It is for this reason that acupuncture was originally used as preventive medicine. Today, however, acupuncture is also commonly used for a wide range of illness and injury, including those listed below.
As the traditional Chinese medical paradigm makes no distinction between the body, mind and spirit, treatment addresses the emotional and psychological aspects of an illness as well as physiological aspects.
Herbal medicines, and lifestyle & dietary recommendations based on the principles of TCM may be also be advised during consultation.
Chinese Herbal Medicine
Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has been refined over 3,500 years, and combines herbal medicine, acupuncture, therapeutic massage, and dietary and exercise therapy. The basic principle underlying TCM is that illness or disease is caused by an imbalance in the body, or in the body’s relationship to its environment.
TCM is used for many health related matters including chronic conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome, colds and flu, headaches, insomnia, chronic fatigue syndrome, skin diseases, infertility and allergies.
Remedial Massage
Remedial Massage counters muscle pain and tension which may result from unhealthy workplace practices, injuries or the accumulative effect of everyday stresses.
Remedial Massage techniques can be deep, shallow, gentle or strong. Passive stretching, acupressure & manual techniques over the channel system of traditional Chinese medicine are often utilised for greater and sustained relief.
Massage promotes suppleness and reduces tension (physical & mental), which is the precursor to many modern day ailments. Hence massage is used to alleviate stress, pain & tension, and to actively promote deep relaxation, health and wellbeing. Massage stimulates the body’s circulation, optimising the delivery of fresh oxygenated blood to the body and brain, increasing one’s sense of vitality & mental clarity. It also aids the elimination of toxins from the body and strengthens the immune system, which makes it an invaluable tool of preventive health care.
Pregnancy Massage
Often the extra weight gain and a shift of the centre of gravity of a woman's body causes the characteristic tension and pain associated with pregnancy. These can be addressed by a combination of relaxation and remedial massage techniques in pregnancy massage which produce the added benefits of reduced swelling of the limbs, soothing the nervous system, and preventing insomnia, muscular cramps and back pain.
A reduction in both labour time and the time to return to optimal fitness is often attributed to having regular massage during pregnancy.
Pregnancy massage provides safe and effective treatment, using different techniques as a woman progresses through the different stages of her pregnancy.
