Aloha

Aloha to the Hawaiian of old is God in us. It means, "Come forward, be in unity and harmony with your real self, God, and mankind. Be honest, truthful, patient, kind to all forms of life, and humble."

What is Kahuna Massage and Message?

"Kahuna massage" is an ancient Hawaiian art of bodywork. The massage is deeply moving and healing. It brings the joy of love and life into your mind, body and spirit and restores you to optimum health.
Kahuna's are the shaman or spiritual advisors of Hawaiian community and they practiced the art of lomi lomi bodywork. Lomi lomi is also popularly known as "Ancient Hawaiian Temple Bodywork". In the ancient temples, initiates would receive this work for between ten hours and fifteen days, by multiple practitioners working non-stop. The Kahunas believed that this would help the recipient to receive visions in recognizing their life's purpose. Today, the practice has shifted but the original intention remains the same.

The intention is to reawaken your body to its divine connection with spirit and to release blockages which prevents you from experiencing yourself in the most authentic, expanded sense. The work provides a sacred space of unconditional love and acceptance for you to let go and surrender to the guidance of your own spirit.

Hawaiian Temple Bodywork is designed to awaken and enlighten the being within your physical body; to awaken your true calling in life and to provide a space for you to receive visions and transformation.

The traditional Lomi Lomi massage combines whole body rhythmic movement with chanting, drumming, deep breathing and using of many different types of oils. In preparation for the Lomi Lomi massage, the participant would undergo a deep cleansing process including fasting, herbal preparations, sweats in the steam vents of the volcano and bathing in the mineral enriched ponds of Hawaii.

In the temple style of lomi lomi, the practitioner is the dancer and you are the choreographer. So the dance is always different. The foundation strokes are used as a framework, then principles of attentiveness, love and respect are emphasized.

Lomi is magical and powerful, and at the same time nurturing and soft, a
rite of passage, a prolonged meditative experience, a vision quest into your body and soul. Lomi's all encompassing and embracing. You come away from a session feeling that your mind, body and soul have been nurtured and cared for.

Receiving a Kahuna session is like being loved and nurtured. The sacred space created for the session is like a womb securely embracing a new being, and readying it for birth. In this place of gestation, old physical and emotional patterns are released, opening up a space for new, healthier patterns to take emerge.
