HOW THESE THERAPIES CAN ASSIST YOU
BEAUTY THERAPY
Beauty therapy consists of a variety of treatments for the face and body Plant based products are used to nurture your skin and minimize the likelihood of sensitive reactions.
Facial treatments cleanse, exfoliate, draw out impurities and moisturise, leaving the skin glowing and alive.
The face is also massaged in order to assist lymphatic vessels to eliminate toxins and bring about a profound state of relaxation. Regular facial treatments address skin types such as oily, dry, combination, and conditions such as acne, sensitivity, and rosacea.
Manicures and pedicures promote foot and nail health by shaping nails and tidying cuticles, while the feet are exfoliated to smooth the skin and reduce calluses and dryness. A relaxing massage with essential oils completes the treatment.
AROMATHERAPY
Aromatherapy uses essential oils to bring about a number of healing effects: relaxation, reduction of anxiety, elimination of toxins, relief of nausea and muscular pain. A personalized blend of essential oils is created to suit the individual client and applied to the skin in a massage which soothes the nervous system and relieves the body of tension and stress.
Only the very highest professional grade of essential oils are used in treatments because these oils have the best therapeutic qualities.
REFLEXOLOGY
Reflexology is a healing art which originated in ancient Egypt. It consists of the compression treatment of congested areas in the hands and feet to relieve congestion in corresponding parts of the body. Reflexology stimulates the lymphatic system and the circulation, improves immunity, and assists with detoxification. It is also profoundly relaxing. This can bring about a state of harmony and balance within the body, mind and emotions.
MASSAGE
Remedial massage uses techniques like trigger point therapy and myofascial release. These work on areas of tension and tenderness to release congestion and improve circulation to those areas.
Pregnancy massage addresses muscular pain in the legs and back often due to postural changes with the growing baby. It also helps to relieve such conditions as insomnia, indigestion and swelling of ankles. For pregnancy massage a custom designed pregnancy cushion is used to support the mother so that she can lie comfortably on the massage table.
PREGNANCY TREATMENTS
As pregnancy progresses, discomforts like back pain, varicose veins, swelling of legs and ankles, and insomnia can occur. These can be addressed using massage, aromatherapy, or reflexology.
The facial skin can undergo changes due to hormones, and a facial may be recommended to balance the skin. Massage and reflexology can be safely given during pregnancy.
Pregnancy is a great time for a woman to enjoy some pampering - as she will have very little time to herself once baby is born.
As a midwife Margaret is very aware of how women feel during pregnancy, with the approaching birth, and postnatally.
