Birthing Companion(Doula) Services
Freedom from fear gives a woman the opportunity to embrace her natural instincts, intuitive wisdom and enjoy the individual and external challenges that are an intrinsic part of the birthing process. When a woman is well supported during birth she experiences a calmer more relaxed and empowered birthing experience.
Current Prices:
Private preparation sessions $120
Private preparation sessions $335 for a 6 week course.
Private on call support visit in labour $150
Doula for a day $550
Post Natal follow up $90 for the first visit and then $33 per hour
Mother Help $33 per hour - put the baby to bed, help with routine, washing etc.
Please note that if the labour goes beyond 12 hours a $200 fee will be charged.
Most labours I attend are less than 12 hours. The average labour is 5 to 8 hours.
Packages are also available if you prefer a fixed plan:
$800 for 2 visits before birth, birth attendance and 1 visit after.
or
$1000 for 4 visits before birth, birth attendance and 2 visits after.
or
$1180 for 6 visits before birth, birth attendance and 2 visits after.
All meetings for doula enquires are complementary.

Creating the birth you desire
Women come to see me to help them create the birthing experience they want in the labour ward, birth centre or at home.
I have been working with the tapesty of birth for 16 years.
My clients have experienced sacred, natural births and enjoyed healing the wounds or trauma from their previous birthing experiences where they felt a loss of control or dignity.
I have supported women on their c-section journey, where their babies have not turned or they are physically unable to give birth without the medical operation and women who have desired that epi.
The essence of all the trauma that we hear with respect to birthing is that a woman didn't feel that she was connected to the process and that somehow whether externally or internally, she felt that she lost control or that the power to make decisions was taken away from her.
There is no need to loose control nor one's dignity during the natural or medicalisied processs. Some women need and/or want assistance and this does not make them any less of a woman. It is about choice.
My choice was to birth naturally. At times in my journey I had to navigate around and negotiate with the doctors and medical staff for what I wanted for myself and my babies.
I love the natural birthing process as I birthed this way for my four births. I didn't experience overwhelming pain nor trauma. I enjoyed working with my body and my babies and learning all that i could about the birthing process.
Each woman is an honour to work with and the sharing of her story enriches and empowers the women who work with me. Its wonderful to be a significant part of the birthing tapestry.
I wish that all women could see the beauty of birth. It is a magnificent journey of the heart. We all need to get to that magic 10cm's yet, how we get there is unique to each and every woman and her partner.
I receive regular referrals from Sydney's leading Ob's and have enjoyed working with the staff at RPA Labour Ward, RPA Birth Centre, North Shore Public and Private, The Mater, Manly and Mona Vale Hospital.
