The Feldenkrais Method


The Feldenkrais Method is a way of learning about movement, posture and breathing. Through it, we can learn to increase the ease and range of our movement, improve flexibility, and co-ordination, and awaken our innate capacity for comfort and grace.
It is named after its originator, Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais, and is based on principles of physics, biomechanics, neuroscience, human development and learning.

Many people come to Feldenrais for help with chronic back problems, RSI, or patterns of tension and stress. Some come for help with neurological conditions, such as MS, cerebral palsy, or stroke. Some want to develop existing skills in sports, music or other areas. It is invaluable for anyone who wants to improve their ability both to move and to rest.

"Its so wise" and "I cant believe that I feel so much more freedom after such little effort" are two comments made recently by clients, after experiencing Feldenkrais.

Weekly classes


These are verbally directed lessons designed to explore a particular function or movement pattern, such as reaching, standing, bending etc. Some lessons are based on more abstract explorations of joint, muscle, and postural relationships. All the lessons combine the immediate experience of good movement with a conscious awareness of how you got there. Classes provide a regular opportunity to engage in the process of learning and develop your knowledge of yourself.

The hands-on process


The hands-on process is an individual one-on-one session. If you have a particular or acute difficulty, these may be quicker and more to the point for you.
The practitioner uses gentle, attentive touch to guide your movements and bring into focus new options that communicate the experience of effortless action.
Lessons are conducted fully clothed and usually commence lying down or sitting on a padded table.
Tini also teaches the bone-strengthening program called "Bones for Life".

Suitable for all ages and stages of health and fitness.
