Naturopathy
Practitioner: Diane Wood ND
The science, art and philosophy of healing which supports and enhances the body’s own healing process.
Nutrition, herbs, remedial massage and homeopathy are some of the main therapeutic modalities used. Emphasis is also placed on lifestyle physical activity, fresh air, sunlight and water.
The naturopath is a health professional who may be seen as a “general practitioner” of natural therapies, employing a holistic approach to health care thereby recognizing the fine balance between they physical and emotional processes of the body,
Herbal Medicine:
Herbal medicine is one of the worlds oldest and most comprehensive healing modalities and is the forerunner of modern drug medicine. It is still used as the primary form of medicine by over 75 per cent of the worlds population. Herbal remedies stimulate the body’s own healing abilities by cleansing and rebalancing it. Herbs can restore the function of “diseased organs” and are important in elimination of toxins which may build up in the body.
Homeopathy:
Homeopathy is a natural pharmaceutical science that uses extremely small doses of natural substances to stimulate and support the body’s defense system. Homeopathic remedies are individually prescribed according to the unique pattern of symptoms that the practitioner is presented with. These can be prescribed for the treatment of acute conditions or combined with other natural therapies in the management of more chronic health problems.
They are also used in higher potencies to restore emotional balance.
