SERVICES
OSTEOPATHY
Osteopathy is a system of health care that focuses of the treatment of the physical body in a "hands-on" manner through the application of stretching techniques, mobilisation or manipulation of joints and deep tactile pressure to areas of tension.
It aims to restore a person's biomechanical balance to reduce pain.
Osteopathic treatment is most commonly sought after for musculo-skeletal problems such as:
- Back and Neck Pain
- Joint Pain or Restriction of Movement
- Sports Injuries
- Repetitive Strain Injuries
- Headaches
- Sciatica
Osteopathy is suitable for all ages with the Osteopaths at the West End clinic often treating babies and children right through to our oldest patient at 89 years.
How to know if you need an Osteopath
If you suffer pain then an Osteopath may be able to help you. A consultation is 40 min in length and will involve a detailed medical history, physical exmaination of the musculo-skeletal system for its capacity for range of motion, the application of any othopedic tests that are deemed appropriate and then treatment to alleviate muscular tension, reduce joint pain and improve quality and range of motion.
Some patients visit an Osteopath for what some of them term a "service". Whilst not experiencing pain, as such, they recognise that they are not as free in their movement as they could be and would like to improve this before it becomes painful.
Osteopaths are 5 year University trained and government registered so you can be sure the knowledge, care and treatment that your Osteopath is providing you is of the highest standard.
