THE HARTINGTON CENTRE
The Hartington Centre provides quality counselling and holistic health care in a non-clinical setting. We believe that the atmosphere created by our unique blend of friendly practitioners and lovely house and garden offers a comfortable, relaxed environment so our clients are more receptive to the maximum benefits from their chosen therapy.
OUR SERVICES
We offer a comprehensive range of services delivered by a team of highly skilled professionals. Each therapist is fully qualified in her / his particular modality, ensuring a high degree of competency, skills and services.
Counselling
Counselling and psychotherapy offer an opportunity to explore significant life issues, work through painful feelings and grow personally in the context of a therapeutic relationship with a skilled and committed professional.
Julie Twohig, Tony Jackson, Samantha Bladon, Sue Mackey, Jo Marston.
Herbal Medicine
Herbal medicines are sourced from medicinal plants and are prescribed in the form of liquid extracts, teas, powders or tablets. Herbal medicine is the oldest form of medicine and has been practiced by many cultures throughout the world for thousands of years. It is still the most widely used form of medicine today.
Ayesha Amos.
Flower Essence Therapy
Flower Essence Therapy takes it's form as a counselling session, whereby the therapist supports and facilitates the client in a therapeutic exchange of dialogue. The direction the client would like to take in working towards a resolution to the issues that are presented is then determined. The therapist works intuitively honing in on key words and phrases that will provide clues to the specific flower essences that will unlock the client's own abilities to heal these areas of concern. A selection of flower essences are made, that when mixed together will create a symbiotic path of healing which is tailored for the individual needs of the client. The experience is often one of deep inward investigation, a shifting of negative thoughts and behaviour, followed by insight and clarity. The intensity of this work can be tempered by lowering the frequency of the dose and can be assisted by other natural therapy modalities and exercises.
Allison Ross.
Kinesiology
Kinesiology embraces a range of health disciplines, and uses gentle manual muscle testing to monitor information about a person's wellbeing.
Samantha Bladon, Liz Hamilton.
Massage (Aromatherapy, Deep Tissue, Pregnancy, Remedial, Relaxation, Sports)
Massage is an ancient practice involving a hands-on approach for the release of stress, tension, aches and pains. Whether you are seeking a luxurious relaxation style massage treatment, or a treatment to specifically address muscular and skeletal problems, you can be sure to find the right treatment at Hartington.
Jane Boadle, Ayesha Amos.
Myotherapy
Myotherapy applies techniques from other modalities to treat muscular skeletal conditions and injuries, which may restrict movement and mobility. Treatment based on assessment can include massage, soft tissue manipulation, trigger point therapy, chinese flame cupping, myofascial dry needling, electrical stimulations - TENS machine, and corrective exercises. Treatment helps loosen muscle tissues, release toxins from the muscles and gets blood and oxygen circulating properly.
Naturopathy
Naturopathy is a holistic health care system that acknowledges, identifies and treats the causes of a disease instead of the symptoms. The whole person is treated through a variety of modalities such as herbal medicine, nutrition, diet and lifestyle modifications
Ayesha Amos.
Nutrition and Dietary Advice
Nutritional medicine is the use of practitioner quality supplements or dietary modifications to correct deficiencies or treat disease states. Healthy eating is also emphasised.
Ayesha Amos.
Osteopathy
Osteopathy is a 'whole body' system of manual therapy that treats each individual uniquely. While treating the musculo-skeletal system, osteopathy also addresses the circulatory, neurological, visceral and endocrine systems.
