SERVICES
What is Remedial Massage Therapy?
You are a unique and special person with your own complex experience of physical, mental, emotional or spiritual pain and stress. During your time with me, it is all about you. Together we will assess your particular profile and establish a treatment strategy that will best suit the individual experience you require.

Your treatment may include a series of fluid moves and holds designed to relax and harmonise along with relevant techniques drawn from cranio-sacral balancing, Bowen - NST, cupping, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, PNF and MET stretching and lengthening techniques and other modalities as applicable.

To enrich your treatment with benefits for mind, body and spirit, I encourage you to take some time following your treatment to relax and Be. Go for a quiet stroll in a serene and beautiful location, drink plenty of water or herbal tea, lay back and watch the clouds float by, Be.

Physical Pain
The leading causes of musculoskeletal pain are poor posture, repetitive movements, stress and trauma to muscles, ligaments or joints.

A thorough assessment will allow a clear understanding of where muscular imbalances or structural dysfunction has occurred. We will then treat the relevant structures and provide you with take home stretching and/or strengthening exercises which put you in control of how rapidly your return to wellness is facilitated.

Mental Pain
Massage, in a safe and supportive environment can help to reconnect mind and body in a present moment experience which can promote the release of deep seated cellular memories. This is often accompanied by tears, shaking, twitching and other responses. This process can be beneficial for those suffering from depression, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder or anxiety. It is important to remember that, in this context, massage should be an adjunct to ongoing and regular psychotherapy or other psychological process work.

Emotional Pain
Research has consistently shown that massage has a direct effect on feelings of well-being by reducing the amounts of stress hormones, such as cortisol, in the blood and increasing the amounts of 'feel good hormones' such as serotonin.

The use of specific essential oils can enhance this effect. You will usually be left feeling deeply calm, relaxed and at peace following your treatment. It is common to feel a little light headed and 'floaty' so allow yourself time to 'come back to earth' before going home - it is often useful to go for a 20 minute stroll before you consider driving.

Essential oils can also be used to uplift, invigorate, enhance memory and numerous other purposes. Just talk to me about what you think you need.

Spiritual Pain
Loneliness and fear often attend a spiritual crisis, sometimes its just the feeling of being out of balance in one or more areas of your Life or a feeling of blockage or transition, loss of direction or purpose. Whatever the experience on your personal journey, empathic, genuine care combined with understanding of the subtle energy bodies can create a deeply inspiring, often healing treatment. A strong referral network to psycho-spiritual healers and therapists is also available and greatly assists this work.

Testimonials

Dear sandi, Thanks to your skilled physical therapy work I made it through the 24 hours of travel home feeling good (no leg pain). I will be taking your written notes to the osteopath when I need another dose. Thanks again, Hank (U.S.A)

Dear Sandi, ...thankyou for your extraordinary care of me over the past 6 months. Your counselling and massage have been astonishingly helpful, all HEALING! S.B.

Dear Sandi, thankyou for your healing hands and your generous spirit!! Nina

For 15 years my job as a Magistrate required long hours of intense concentration, pressure, speed note taking, fast and accurate computer work, dealing with demanding legal counsel and handling the widely variable emotional states of the various other parties involved. In the end I finished up with more knots in my neck, back and shoulders than in a mad fisherman's net. Thankfully, regular massage therapy sessions with Sandi Dwyer and her exercise instruction programme have very substantially sorted me out. She is a highly skilled therapist, and I recommend her to anyone who may have similar complaints. Max Beck, Magistrate - now retired.
