The Rolf Method Of Structural Intergation is a scientifically validated hands on approach combining deep, three dimensional connective tissue release with mindful communication, movement and postural education in a unique and powerful ten session series. The Rolf Method of S.I. is internationally considered one of the most effective physical therapies to date. This is transformative and empowering work designed to take you to a new level of comfort, ease, resiliency, poise, self discovery and optimal performance.
The Rolf Method of Structural Integration is a health and wellbeing investment of a lifetime. It invokes true and lasting change and opens individual potential.
The Structural Integration series is one of the most significant means to keep your body enduringly youthful and vitally functional.
If you are not fully satisfied with how you feel, how you look and how you perform, then don't waste time! Your life is ticking by now.... Take the initiative to get Structurally Integrated. You have nothing to lose and a potentially life changing experience to gain.

More Specifically:
The Rolf Method consists of softening, stretching and manipulating fascia, the elastic and supporting connective tissue membrane that envelops every muscle in the body. Fascia can be likened to a three dimensional, uninterrupted network that both binds and separates all internal structures, and essentially gives you your unique shape. In short, the connective tissue matrix is the tensional support of the body. The characteristics of a healthy and balanced connective tissue system are flexibility, elasticity, length and resilience. However, this tissue absorbs and responds to injury, surgery, illness, emotional trauma, poor postural habits, repetitive movements and plain every day stress. Any of these factors will immediately, or over a period of time, cause an imbalance in the tissue organization. When imbalance exists, fascia shortens, thickens and becomes dehydrated which impairs joint mobility and muscle function. This is usually felt in the body as chronic pain, stiffness, compression, decreased flexibility, impaired function and the inability to maintain correct postural alignment.
In a series of 10 sessions, each building on the previous session and moving from superficial to core depth, the Rolf Method makes every body segment pliable, open, balanced and integrated towards more efficient alignment in the earth's gravitational field. Gravity, paramount to Rolf work, is the most potent physical force the body has to deal with on an on-going basis. It either pulls us down or supports and uplifts us, yet we remain largely unaware of its presence. The body is at its greatest ease and functions most efficiently when its major segments (head, shoulders, thorax, pelvis, legs and feet) are aligned around a vertical line, in harmony with gravity. When out of alignment, the entire human structure is strained and stressed. Muscles become over contracted, fascia becomes short, rigid and loses its elasticity and energy is depleted in an effort to keep an unbalanced body upright. By releasing fascial holding, the spine is decompressed and muscles lengthen gaining freedom and full range of movement.
Psychological issues and emotional trauma can also experience release and relief in the freeing, organizing and integrating process. Fascia represents the body armor and your personal story is deeply imbedded and represented in your connective tissue. It has often been noted that individuals undergoing psychotherapy speed along their process substantially with Structural Integration.

The Alignment Factor
One of the fundamental goals and educational objectives of the Rolf Method of Structural Integration is to align the body in the earth's gravitational field. This is accomplished in part when the major body segments, freed from fascial holding, are brought into horizontal tensional balance over the vertical centre of gravity of the segment below. The head is thus aligned with the thorax, the thorax with the pelvis and the pelvis with the legs and feet. However, the Rolf Line is more than just the elastic equipoise of body segments. The Rolf Line is also a psycho/spiritual alignment in gravity. It is experienced as a simultaneous internal sense of grounding and lift, as centred being, as presence and as the place where one stands in ones truth and purpose.
When individuals come into their Line, they tend to choose a life direction more in line with who they really are. It is not uncommon for people who have completed the ten sessions process to leave destructive relationships, unfulfilling jobs or to find themselves pursuing a passion they had abandoned years ago. Individuals also frequently report the ability to stay centred, serene and focused when faced with life's challenges. True alignment opens individual potential.

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy. What is it?
Biodynamic CST is a receptive, non-invasive and utterly respectful approach that supports the fundamental integrity of the individuals inherent wisdom, resourcefulness and self-healing capacity.
At the core of the body cerebral spinal fluid, which bathes and cushions the brain and spinal cord, expresses motion. This motion produces subtle rythmic impulses in a tide like ebb and flow. These rythms are regarded as an expression of health carrying an essential ordering principle that maintains balance in our form and function. Our state of health is determined by the fullness and balance of these rythms. Physical and emotional stresses cause the body's tissues to contract and when trauma is severe these tissue contractions can become locked in the body as sites of inertia. This inertia can restrict function and vitality and give rise to pain, various disorders, depression or anxiety. Restrictions in the body effect the way craniosacral motion is expressed, allowing practitioners to identify problem areas. These are mirrored back to the individual through the "listening hands" of the practitioner, encouraging the systems own priorities for self healing, harmony and optimal organization. Change is often permanent because it has come from within, from the bodys inner knowing, inner intelligence and in the order that is its own.
Biodynamic CST is effective for many conditions, physical and psychological and is an outstanding support in overall health maintenance, enhancing vitality, happiness and general wellbeing. It is suitable for all ages including infants, the elderly and people with delicate, degenerative or painful conditions. In most cases, a series of sessions is advised.

Biodynamic CST combined with the Rolf process
Biodynamic CST is an outstanding complement to the Rolf process. A full session combination of both approaches is possible and can be extremely powerful. Both methods seek an increase in internal space, order, organization and supports the emergence of the mid-line. The Rolf process is an active, dynamic opening of the body from the outside in whereas Biodynamic CST is a passive, receptive allowing of space and order from the inside out. When profound ordering and balance of the structure via the connective tissue and client education is met with an individual's deep, mindful, inner connection and invitation to expand into ones internal space, magic can happen. The speed at which one connects to his/her centre, personal authority and sense of presence is augmented and individuals report a heightened state of joy, self respect and clarity of direction in their lives.

Testimonials:
"The Rolf Method of Structural Integration is the most intelligent and liberating form of bodywork that I have ever come across. During the ten sessions my body has rearranged itself to a fluid and tension free state of balance. Carolyn is a skilled and sensitive practitioner. It was an exciting process...."
Carol Perry, The Channon NSW
"My Physiotherapist recommended Carolyn to me, after having experienced the Rolf Method.... The intensity of the Rolf Method was like nothing I had ever experienced, awakening all my inner tissue, which after each session made me more aware of my structure and the control I was starting to feel. I knew that I was becoming a different person inside and out after each session. Before coming to Carolyn, I felt like a stick insect, not using the inner part of my body, which I had let become very weak. After ten sessions with Carolyn, I felt like a new person, being able to jump up and run and my energy levels were great.... Thankyou Carolyn.
Claudette Martin, Mullumbimby NSW
"I am a 76 year old woman. I had been suffering serious and chronic back pain that limited every area of my life.... I never expected to receive the degree of vast improvement in my overall wellbing as I did from Structural Integration, especially in only 10 sessions! My back pain has vanished... but moreover, I have a flexibility in my body that makes me feel 20 years younger. Structural Integration has given me a new lease on life. This is the most impressive therapy I have ever experienced and only regret I hadn't learned about it much earlier."
Hilary Davy, Toulouse France
"I have experienced many bodywork modalities including deep tissue massage, Feldenkrais, Bowen and Trager massage. For me the Structural Integration sessions with Carolyn were the ultimate and the most enjoyable of all. I knew after my first Rolf session that this was no ordinary bodywork. Each session was about transformation, integration and about becoming more at home in my body and in the world. Every session seemed to bring a greater lightness of Being, yet at the same time a feeling of being centered and grounded. I feel more present, more aligned, more at peace within myself and in my interactions with others and just generally more aligned with life. I would recommend Carolyn to anyone who wants to move forward in their life with graceful purpose."
Jerry Leach, Murwillumbah NSW
"I came to Structural Integration after suffering severe headaches. My life was stalled and the frustrations of every day were becoming intolerable. I had previously consulted a chiropractor but was becoming increasingly disenchanted by the 'remoteness' of the treatment. I was delighted by the physical 'intimacy' of Structural Integration and by the rapport quickly established between myself and the practitioner. My health has improved to the extent where a headache invokes mild surprise; my body is stronger and more flexible; my life serves me with infinite and delightful opportunities for growth and prosperity. I am profoundly grateful...!
Gary Lindquist, Murwillumbah NSW

The Founder:
The Rolf Method of Structural Integration was developed in the USA over 40 years ago by Dr. Ida P. Rolf, Ph.D. Dr. Rolf was a biochemist researching collagen, chemotherapy and organic chemistry for the Rockefellar Institute. Her extensive search for solutions to a family health problem and her dissatisfaction with available medical treatments led her to study Osteopathy, Chiropractic medicine, yoga, the Alexander Technique, homoeopathy and Korzybski's work on consciousness. She was fascinated with human structure and its effect on human function. During her scientific research and hands on experience she made a fundamental discovery regarding the body's plasticity. A system of work emerged which she called Structural Integration.
