Feeling frazzled or fatigued? You're not alone. Millions of people around the world suffer from low energy, chronic fatigue and similar conditions. But before you reach for an enormous cup of coffee, why not try a super herb?

What are Super Herbs?

"Super herb" is simply a buzzword given to herbs that pack a punch. These herbs help heal the body, boost energy levels and aid wellbeing. They may also be useful for treating chronic fatigue and low energy.

Korean Ginseng

There are plenty of Korean ginseng products on the market. It has been used for thousands of years to treat many illnesses and ailments. Traditionally, ginseng has been used to treat fatigue, headaches, poor memory and low sex drive.

Here in the west, it's often used to give an energy hit and boost concentration. It may also help improve memory, ward off stress and fight fatigue.

Eleuthero Root

Eleuthero, another popular ancient Chinese medicine, has been said to boost concentration and immunity. Interestingly, it works as a sedative, rather than a stimulant. So when it's added to a drink or taken as a tea, it becomes a relaxing energy that will lift you up for longer than caffeine can.

What this means is that the body becomes better at processing energy. Which might explain why eleuthero root has been used to treat Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) and mild depression.

Ashwagandha

Another energy booster is Ashwagandha. The ayurvedic herb treats a variety of ailments, including constipation. And some studies show that the herb – also known as Indian ginseng – supports a variety of bodily functions, including energy and vitality.

Before You Take Super Herbs

While these "super herbs" have a host of apparent health benefits, it's important to chat to your herbalist or Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practitioner. They'll propose a treatment that's right for you.
