Animal health and traditional Chinese therapies are Raeís passions which drove her to gain the necessary qualifications to practice acupuncture and acupressure and to treat animals whether it is through massage or herbal remedies.
Animal Therapy with Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine
Because of the Chinese origins of her treatments, Rae deals with concepts such as yin and yang, and the life force called Chi.
In Chinese philosophy, ill-health is said to arise from an imbalance in the Chi which, in turn, arises from an imbalance between the two polarities of Chi: yin and yang. This imbalance causes a loss of wellbeing.
Traditional Chinese Acupuncture
Acupuncture as a form of treatment for ailments can be traced as far back as the stone age and the ancient cultures of India and China. However it is in ancient China that the acupuncture treatment offered by Rae developed.
Chinese Therapies and Massage Therapy
Acupuncture can be used as a single treatment or in tandem with other Chinese therapies, including massage. Being committed to a holistic regime of treatment, Raeís services include, in addition to acupuncture:
Rae will often incorporate these other therapies to enhance the effectiveness of acupuncture as well as to treat specific ailments such as emotional, behavioural and skin disorders. Massage therapy covers both light and deep tissue massage and herbal remedies are individually prepared by Rae.

What to expect in a treatment
By the use of various forms of treatment: the application of needles to traditional acupuncture points, acupressure, massage therapy, Chinese herbal medicine, nutrition advice and even philosophy, Rae strives to create an environment which enhances the health and wellbeing of her patients.
Integral to Raeís treatment is diagnosis, the determination of the causes of an imbalance and the removal of those causes from the patient's environment. With the restoration of balance or harmony in the Chi, Raeís patients heal and regain health and wellbeing.
The Traditional Chinese Acupuncture, Chinese Therapies and Massage Therapy offered by Rae treats a vast range of animal conditions and ailments.
Rae takes a holistic approach to the treatment of each and every one of her patients. This means that, prior to developing a patient specific therapeutic plan, Rae investigates the physical, mental and emotional components of each patient within that patientís environment.
In many cases Rae will incorporate other Chinese therapies, along with acupuncture, into her treatment plans.
How long does treatment take?
In the general treatment of animals improvement may occur with treatment or some time after treatment. Treatments may last from 10 seconds to 30 minutes.
Raeís long-term goal is always to fix the number of treatments to the minimum required for effectiveness and maintenance of health and wellbeing. Both the frequency and duration of treatment depend on the circumstances of the individual animal as well as the ailment.
In your own home
Being committed to her patients and to her craft, Rae believes that the best possible outcome for her patients can only be achieved if the animals are treated in their own homes.
