ABOUT Agnieszka (Aga) @ AK Counselling

I hold a strong belief that through connection and engagement anyone can gain awareness and attempt to learn to live with or shift any present concerns or issues. A safe, supportive and professional environment is what AK Counselling can offer. I have a Graduate Diploma in Counselling and have trained in:

  • Complex Trauma,

  • Art Therapy,

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT),

  • Attachment Theory,

  • Hypnotherapy.

Applying knowledge and skills, we work with what you bring to the sessions. I believe in relating, understanding and challenging your present moment and situation. It is important to look at things from your perspective and work with where you are. To look at ways of refining, shifting and exploring your idea of health and wellbeing.

Being transparent and genuine are important in my practice and I am interested in what you are aiming to achieve and how we can work together to make this happen.

My counselling approach is grounded in Carl Rogers’ Person Centered Therapy. My dedication to individual counselling and group work has given me extensive experience working with grief and loss, trauma and relationship breakdowns. Constant curiosity and my love of learning make me very dedicated to ongoing professional and personal development.

Constant curiosity and my love of learning make me very dedicated to ongoing professional and personal development.

As well as individual counselling I am passionate about group work. I have written and facilitated groups for women who have come out of difficult relationships and art therapy groups for seniors.

Counselling

Counselling can assist people with issues affecting their health and wellbeing

There are many reasons people may want to see a counsellor;

  1. You or someone you know may be dealing with stress, anxiety, feelings of hopelessness or grief and loss.

  2. You could be looking for self development or more self awareness.

  3. With big changes in life, you may be trying to find ways to adjust.

I have worked with grief and loss, trauma, relationship breakdowns and people who want to gain insight and work on their self awareness. Establishing a respectful, non-judgmental and creative space is essential. I believe a strong and trustworthy relationship is fundamental in any therapy.
