Carole designs and creates individual and limited handcrafted goods made from glass, resin, metal and textiles.

An average workshop runs up to 3 hours. They are pre-organized for a more intimate experience. A maximum of 6 people is preferred except for enamelling where 3 people is the maximum. Coffee and tea will be provided.

Workshops at Alternatively Created: 

• Felt Bowl Workshop with Carole - a 3hr workshop making your own small bowl from wet felt using a resist method. All equipment and materials are supplied. Bowls are 100 gms made from local wool, approximately 10 cm height and 12 cm diameter. You can choose from available colours. Added embellishments will be discussed for future projects.  You can take your finished bowl home after drying. 
• Mini-weaving with Michelle - a 3hr workshop where you will be weaving a pre-made warp of 4, salvage style. Warping methods used will be discussed. You will use a frame to weave on and have a range of yarns to create your own design. When woven, size should be approximately 5 cm x 10 cm. You will attach your weave to a heavy card for display. 
• Silk sun dyeing with Carole - a 3hr workshop full of fun and relaxation using sun dyes. We’ll explore the different effects of the sun, you’ll also use some templates to bring colours & silk to life. Participants need to wear old clothes and shoe covers. All materials including safety glasses, brushes, silk scarf, dyes, plastic gloves & plastic apron will be supplied.
