AMT is a national not-for-profit membership association that represents practising Massage Therapists and Massage Therapy Students. It is the preferred body for professional therapists in active clinical practice. Established in 1966, we are also the oldest Association in Australia to promote Massage Therapy in its own right.
AMT is at the forefront of raising public awareness of the benefits of Massage Therapy; lobbying government and health funds for recognition of Massage Therapy as a health service; and promoting increased industry standards and professionalism.
AMT was the first association to establish provider status arrangements with the private health funds and was also instrumental in having Massage Therapy formally recognised by WorkCover in NSW and Victoria.
