Some people come with a sense of dissatisfaction personally and/or in their professional life and are seeking an exploration of meaning in their lives. Others come with depression, anxiety, suicidal feelings or with relationship difficulties.  Analysis is sometimes requested by people whose professional life demands increased self-awareness and understanding.

Analysis and therapy through working in-depth can bring about deep-seated change. At the core of the process is the relationship with the analyst. It is very likely that any difficulties that the person experiences in life will often, by degree, become manifest in the relationship with the analyst thus facilitating direct access to unconscious dynamics that drive behaviour and patterns of relating, which in some cases might be destructive. This process can be helpful as the analyst and analysand (client) can address these issues first hand and work through them.

The analytic and therapeutic process assists individuals to engage with the unconscious forces of the mind that to some degree affect everyone's life and relationships and can contribute to degrees of confusion. I help individuals to understand the unconscious dynamics that often confound our conscious view of a problem, and to recognise how a problem has arisen, how it functions and what interferes with resolving it. A primary aim of Analysis is to establish an ongoing relationship between what is happening in the unconscious and what is taking place in day-to-day life.

Within a therapeutic process couples and individuals experiencing relationship difficulties can develop a deeper understanding of how conflict in their relationship has arisen, how it functions and what interferes with resolving it. This process can also help couples who are ending a marriage or long-term relationship and want guidance in dealing with the associated grieving, life rebuilding and managing this painful process for any children involved. We all bring to relationships 'blind spots' from our previous experience in life, but we are not always conscious of this. Relationship therapy aims to reveal what lies behind the conflict in a relationship by attending to the conscious and unconscious aspects to facilitate lasting change.
