True health is not just the absence of symptoms but an integrated whole state of wellbeing.

This balance is brought about by aligning all aspects of healing through;

  • The physical body by introducing the correct diet, herbals, exercise, and sunlight.
  • The emotional body with help from flower essences, herbals, massage, aromatherapy, and support.
  • The spiritual or energetic body through meditation, Reiki, Flower essences, and silence.

Using a combination of all of these treatments the body naturally and gently comes back into alignment.

A slowing of the mind takes place and an opening of the channels which creates space for wellbeing and harmony to grow within.

I treat many and varied conditions by returning the body back to a natural state of balance including but not limited to;

  • Menstrual problems including menopause, PMS, POS, etc..
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Skin conditions
  • Hay fever
  • Sinusitis
  • Bronchitis
  • Persistent cough, colds, etc..
  • ADD/ ADHD
  • Weight loss
  • Headaches
  • Sleep problems
  • Autoimmune conditionsCold sores, Herpesvirus

About Herbal Medicine

Throughout history herbs with their potent healing qualities have been used. Within India there is the Ayurvedic system, in China, there is Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine, there are the spiritual healing practices of the North American Indian and Orthodox medicine also has its roots in herbs. So it is of no surprise that herbs are also used for healing within Western cultures.

"A young man once approached Mahatma Gandhi as he walked alongside a river. The young man bowed respectfully and then began to speak There is so much that needs to be done in this world. There is so much poverty, so much suffering, damage to be repaired, wrongs to be righted, and there are pains to be healed. How is anyone to be of any help at all?

Gandhi drew the young mans attention to the numerous pebbles that covered the banks of the river and said, find the roundest, the smoothest the best pebble you can and hold it in your hand, then select a place in the river that flows before you, take careful aim and cast the stone towards the spot as accurately as you can. When the pebble hits the water your work is done. The ripples will do the rest

(Stefano VD 2006, Holism & Complementary Medicine).

This is a great metaphor for healing with herbal medicine. The right blend of herbs can be seen as the pebble and the river as the body. The right blend of herbs can target the imbalances causing dis-ease; the ripples will begin the process of healing. Healing is an individual process and will take work from the client including correcting the acid/alkaline balance through reducing acid-forming foods and reducing inflammation. Increasing exercise will promote better circulation and enhance the ability of nutrients to reach the cells and increasing the elimination of waste.

By truly embracing the life that flows through us healing can begin. Herbs can aid this process but health is our responsibility and a wonderful gift that we must learn to nurture.

I became a practitioner after developing a passion for healing through my connection with nature and the synergy of plant material and the human body. Before starting my degree in Western Herbal Medicine I studied Horticulture and started my own gardening business. I believed that this would be enough to satisfy my desire to be out in nature working with plants. However, my longing to help others heal through the use of herbs was not being satisfied. I always felt that I had a calling to introduce people to the amazing healing energy of herbal medicine after the fast-acting results I had experienced in the past. I have always believed that most conditions or dis-ease can be healed through the power of plants and we have just lost our way. Herbs and nutrient-rich fruits and vegetables have so much to offer and we should look at them as mother earths gifts, the colours of the rainbow in our Journey towards good health and vibrant energy.

"In healing as in all life, we are free and we are the divinely empowered authority for the process of our unfolding lives

(Hoffman D 1983, Holistic Herbal).
