SIS40215 Certificate IV in Fitness + Entry requirements

If you are passionate about helping people reach their health and fitness goals and want to choose your own hours or be your own boss, becoming a nationally qualified Personal Trainer is a great fit. Our Complete Personal Trainer^ program offers you an interactive hands-on approach to learning, giving you the knowledge and skills you need to assess clients and tailor exercise programs to reach their individual goals.

This course is the complete package, equipping you with the necessary knowledge and competencies required to work as a successful Personal Trainer. You will start with the Entry Requirements of the SIS30315 Certificate III in Fitness before launching into the SIS40215 Certificate IV in Fitness.

Learning from real fitness professionals, in real gyms, this course covers the fundamentals of fitness plus an understanding of the latest in healthy eating trends, motivational psychology and the essentials of small business planning.

This is a Nationally Recognised course.

Practical Requirements

In order to complete your practical component, you must hold a current “Working with Children Card issued by the relevant Government department in the State in which you have enrolled. You must also obtain or hold a current first aid and CPR certificate~.

~The Australian Institute of Personal Trainers has an agreement in place with Red Cross Australia (RTOID 3605) which allows students to receive training for this unit. Red Cross Australia is a third party training provider who conduct training and assessment services on behalf of Australian Institute of Personal Trainers. Please note the cost of this is not included in your course fees.

Course Outcomes

Once obtained, the Complete Personal Trainer^ program will enable you to work as a fully qualified Personal Trainer. It will also allow you to gain employment in fitness areas such as:

Your own personal training business

Be your own boss and choose when and where you work with your own client network. Personal training franchises

Get a head-start in launching your PT business with an already established fitness franchise, delivering specialised training to your members.

Community fitness settings

Support the health and fitness of your own community providing fitness advice for organised group initiatives.

Health clubs

Work for a local gym or fitness centre delivering group classes or training your own clients as a qualified Personal Trainer.

40 hours of face-to-face practical completed with an AIPT Mentor, a qualified Personal Trainer, who will guide you through your course material and provide you with hands-on experience, with theory components completed online, in your own time.

Student Selected Mentor

Choose your own Mentor* to guide you through 40 hours of face-to-face practical.

Theory components are completed online, in your own time.
