Since you are here it is likely that your child or a child close to your heart is suffering from some form of Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Learning Difficulty, Developmental Delay or Challenging Behavior.
Whatever label has been diagnosed, the results are usually the same… under-achievement of true potential, frustration, social isolation, low self-esteem and not to mention the total disruption to family life.
- Autism now impacts 1 in 91 children, (1 in 150 up until 2009) and up from 1 in 10,000 in the 1970s. That is an increase of 6, 000%.
- 1 in 91 children have autism. 1 in 12 children have ADHD, 1 in 6 children have a learning disorder.
- Many children with autism share the same physical symptoms including gastrointestinal distress, food allergies, immune issues, vitamin and mineral deficiencies, and sleep disturbances.
- Children with autism test for higher amounts of toxic metals in their system than their neurotypical peers.
I understand Autism is a complex area so I have put together some information that will help you understand some of the factors involved. Please remember each child is unique and this is why treatment varies from child to child. There is no magic fix or cure for Autism, but many children improve tremendously with diet changes, nutritional supplementation, homoepathic isotherapy (CEASE Therapy) combined with neuro developmental therapies such as speech therapy, occupational therapy, sound therapy and many more.
Autism is my special interest. In addition to a Health Science Degree I am accredited with the MINDD Foundation, trained in biomedical and Defeat Autism Now (DAN!) protocols and completed additional training with Michael Sichel.

Making a Difference is the Greatest Gift you can Give Your Child.
I look forward to meeting you.
Did you know that across Australia every day over 50,000 children are drugged with amphetamines and similar drugs to “treat ADHD”. This means that our children are being given stimulants classified by the Australian government in the same category as cocaine, opium and morphine.
Q: What is biomedical treatment?
A: Biomedical treatment works to correct imbalances in biochemistry. Treatment focuses on the health of the digestive system, dietary changes, therapeutic doses of vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids and amino acids as well as detoxifying heavy metals and other toxins from the body.
Q: Will this treatment cure my child?
A: As I have said previously, there is no cure or magic fix for autism, but many children improve tremendously using biomedical treatment. To be absolutely honest it is a long road to recovery, requiring lots of change, but it can be done. I see improvement in approx 80-90% of children. The younger we start the better the result. The most important thing is to never give up. Autism's greatest secret is that children are improving and recovering using biomedical treatment.
Q: My child is on medication. Does your treatment work alongside medication?
A: Yes, biomedical treatment works while the child is on medication. I recommend that medication is not changed without consulting your doctor.
Q: How long before I will notice a difference in my child?
A: The rate of improvement varies from child to child. Some children noticeably improve in 2-4 weeks while others take longer to respond. Changes are often subtle with families not realising how far their child has come until an outsider makes a comment.
Q: Will I need to change my child’s diet?
A: In most cases, yes, a diet change is required. This is the biggest hurdle for most families but let me assure you that the correct diet is the foundation of treatment. Without the correct diet in place your child will under-achieve in the rest of the treatment, diet is that important.
The changes can be made gradually, we work on adding things in and changing over foods. As your child progresses with treatment and his vitamin and mineral levels improve the palate widens and he will automatically reach out for better food. It never ceases to amaze parents at what their child eats.
Q: My young son has just been diagnosed with Autism. He’s not speaking yet – will you be able to help him speak?
A: In many instances yes, the treatment facilitates the development of speech. Look at treatment as if it unlocks the brain allowing the other neuro-developmental therapies to work better. It is still essential to work closely with a speech/occupational therapist. It takes time, patience and dedication. Not all children respond.
Q: My child has ADHD, how can you help?
A: Many doctors are quick to diagnose ADHD and prescribe medication such as ritulin, strattera and concerta, but really there is a lot that can be done before such medication is necessary. As part of treatment we look at diet, heavy metals (particularly lead and copper), gut health and biochemical imbalances such as pyroluria and methylation.
Q: What is pyroluria
A: Pyroluria is a genetic disorder of haemaglobin metabolism that drains zinc and B6 from the body. Zinc and B6 are critical for many functions in the body, B6 in particular for our moods. The symptoms are diverse and each child may have only a few of the symptoms - anxiety, depression, sensory issues (for instance can't stand the feel of labels), anger, rage, sleeping problems, motion sickness, white spits on nails, poor growth, poor immunity. In the child's family it is common to see a history of anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and addictions (drug, alcohol, gambling)
Q: My daughter has been diagnosed with aspergers. I recently read about biomedicine How can it help my daughter?
A: Aspergers kids often respond very well to treatment but are among the hardest to treat because of their dislike of routine changes. However with the treatment we are likely to see improvements such as – not as rigid, more adaptable to change, less anxious, less sensitive to their environment, better communication and social skills.
Q: Can you help a child with tics?
A: Tics are complicated and often difficult to completely get rid of, but in many instances significant improvement occurs. The reasons behind tics can be a streptococcus infection often in the gut, food sensitivities and sometimes pyroluria.
