How Does Bowen Therapy Work?
Bowen Therapy works on the muscle fascia (lining of the muscle). By applying small gentle moves, each at a specific site, the fascia is released giving a signal to the muscle and nerves to return to the correct position.
What To Expect During a Treatment?
The treatment is pleasant as the manoeuvre is light across the fiber, tendon or ligament, with no forceful manipulation. There is a 2 minute waiting period between each of the moves to allow time for the signal to be received and for your muscles to make the changes necessary before commencing the next sequence of moves.
The circulation between fascia and the muscle will increase removing toxins and enhancing the overall circulation. There will be a marked improvement of pain, discomfort and body alignment as you continue with your Bowen Therapy treatments.
Costs and Appointment Information
I perform Bowen therapy on Saturdays and Sundays from 9am to 5pm and weekdays from 6:30pm to 8pm. House calls can be arranged on request in the St. Geroge/Illawarra area.
Suburbs outside the 10km radius will have a $20.00 surcharge

What To Do After Your Treatment?
Once you have started with Bowen treatment, it is very important to keep this level of wellbeing by following a simple set of instructions.
48 hours after treatment - do not do any strenuous exercises or any activity that your body is not use to.
Ensure that you drink plenty of water - approx 8 glasses per day. If you find this difficult because you are not use to drinking so much water, then just increase the amount you are taking now and start a habit of having a glass/bottle of water with you wherever you go.
Do not sit upright for more than 2 hours as it will block the good work that has been done by the therapy. If you work in an office, leave your work station and walk around for a few minutes then come back.
Follow the specific exercises given to you to do at home to help your body become stronger and regain utility.
I also find that Yoga exercises complement Bowen Therapy, as it helps with flexibility and strength of body as well as of mind.
